In this paper, the effect of imidazole and olefin concentrations on effective oxygen transfer was studied under heterogenized homogeneous reaction conditions in the presence of a base.
Abstract
Polynuclear manganese complexes of 2,5-dihydroxyterephthalaldehyde (dhterH 2 ) and its Schiff base polymer ligand (PdhterenH 2 ) [Mn II (dhter)] n , [Mn n II (Pdhteren)] and [Mn n III (Pdhteren)(OAc) n ] were synthesized. The manganese complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, thermal analysis, IR and EPR spectroscopic techniques. Catalytic epoxidation of olefins with hydrogen peroxide was studied using the above manganese complexes under heterogenized homogeneous reaction conditions in the presence of a base. The effect of imidazole and olefin concentrations on effective oxygen transfer were studied. [Mn n II (Pdhteren)] and [Mn n III (Pdhteren)(OAc) n ] are more efficient than the oxygen-bonded manganese complex [Mn II (dhter)] n for the activation of hydrogen peroxide.

Manganese-catalyzed epoxidations of alkenes in bicarbonate solutions.

TL;DR: This paper describes a method, discovered and refined by parallel screening, for the epoxidation of alkenes that uses hydrogen peroxide as the terminal oxidant, is promoted by catalytic amounts (1.0-0.1 mol %) of manganese(2+) salts, and must be performed using at least catalysttic amounts of bicarbonate buffer.

TL;DR: In this paper, the strong-filed coupling scheme was proposed to overcome the weak-field coupling scheme in paramagnetic resonance, which was shown to be effective in the case of free atoms and ions.

Catalytic asymmetric oxidations using optically active (salen)manganese(III) complexes as catalysts

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors dealt with enantioselective one oxygen atom transfer reactions (epoxidation, oxidation of enolates, and oxidation of sulphide to sulphoxides) catlaysed by optically active (salen)manganese(III)complexes.
