Exact analytical solutions describing quantum dot, ring and wire wavefunctions

TL;DR: In this article, exact analytical solutions of electronic wavefunctions in quantum ring-like structures are found using a symmetry-adapted coordinate system, in the case of an infinite potential barrier, it is related to a more general problem of finding resonance modes in a ringlike cavity.

Stark-shift of impurity fundamental state in a lens shaped quantum dot

TL;DR: In this article, the Stark effect and the polarisability of shallow-donor impurity located in the centre of lens shaped quantum dot were calculated by a variational method and in the effective mass approximation.

Impurity Levels in a Parabolic Quantum Dot Under Action of a Strong Magnetic Field

TL;DR: In this article, the impurity states in quantum dot with parabolic confinement were studied in adiabatic approximation and the analytical expressions for the energy of ground and excited states were obtained.
Journal ArticleDOI

Exact analytical solutions for shallow impurity states in symmetrical paraboloidal and hemiparaboloidal quantum dots

TL;DR: In this paper, the problem of shallow donor impurity located at the center of a symmetrical paraboloidal quantum dot (SPQD) is solved exactly. But the problem is not solved for the non-bound donor.
Journal ArticleDOI

General theory of electronic states in QD with small non-sphericity

TL;DR: In this article, the electronic states of the ellipsoidal quantum dot with finite confinement potential have been studied and it has been proved that in general case in the first order of perturbation theory the correction to the energy of the ground state is equal to zero.

Quantum Mechanics of One- and Two-Electron Atoms

TL;DR: The theory of atoms with one or two electrons is the simplest and most completely treated field of application of quantum mechanics as mentioned in this paper, and it is one of the simplest fields of application for quantum mechanics.

Effects of quantum size and potential shape on the spectra of an electron and a donor in quantum dots

TL;DR: In this paper, the potential-shape, quantum size, and donor position effects on the level ordering and binding of quantum dots with different confinement potentials are studied in detail, which may be useful for understanding physical phenomena and designing materials and devices in quantum-dot structures.
Journal ArticleDOI

Controlling orbital collapse from inside and outside a transition element

TL;DR: In this article, a study of the bimodal behaviour of atomic wavefunctions for a transition element (Cr) and how this behaviour can be controlled and even turned into single-mode character either by varying the effective nuclear charge for nonintegral values, or placing the atom in a spherical cavity of adjustable radius.
