Postnatal remodeling of the leptomeningeal vascular network as assessed by intravital fluorescence video-microscopy in the rat.

TL;DR: It is concluded that postnatal remodeling of the leptomeningeal vascular network is associated with rarefaction and an adaptation of vessel caliber to wall shear rate, which may contribute to arterio-venous differentiation and redistribution of blood flow from the superficial to the intracortical vasculature in the developing brain.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ischemic Heart Disease: Noninvasive Imaging Techniques and Findings.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors illustrate the spectrum of imaging findings of ischemic heart disease (coronary artery disease, myocardial ischemia, and MI); highlight the advantages and disadvantages of the various non-invasive imaging methods used to assess ischemic heart disease, as illustrated by recent clinical trials.

Haemodynamic Assessment of Coronary Flow with CFD and Phase-Contrast MRI

Susann Beier
TL;DR: A novel approach for coronary flow assessment for patient-profiling and pre-surgical planning and the feasibility of assessing dynamically scaled coronary phantom flow with phase-contrast magnetic resonance imaging (PC-MRI) is demonstrated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Hemodynamic impact of abdominal aortic aneurysm stent-graft implantation-induced stenosis

TL;DR: The results highlight coexistence of stenotic wall regions exposed to high shear rate and post-stenotic recirculation zones that may implicate platelet activation and predispose thrombus formation and thromboembolic complications.

Pore-Scale Modeling of Navier-Stokes Flow in Distensible Networks and Porous Media

TL;DR: In this paper, a pore-scale network modeling method, based on the flow continuity residual in conjunction with a Newton-Raphson nonlinear iterative solving technique, is proposed and used to obtain the pressure and flow fields in a network of interconnected distensible ducts representing, for instance, blood vasculature or deformable porous media.
