Impaired motor timing control in specific reading retardation.

TL;DR: An experimental manipulation of movement speed for both tasks indicated that the threshold at which movement speed degrades timing precision for coordinated action best characterizes the motor impairment of retarded readers.
Journal ArticleDOI

Construct accessibility, depression and the emotional stroop task: Transient mood or stable structure?

TL;DR: This paper found that high depression was associated with interference in colour naming of negative compared to neutral words in an emotional Stroop Task, but this effect was more clearly marked when Ss were allocated to groups on the basis of depression levels ascertained 12 months previously.
Journal ArticleDOI

Intention memory and achievement motivation: volitional facilitation and inhibition as a function of affective contents of need-related stimuli.

TL;DR: Replicating findings of J. Kuhl and M. Kazén (1999), reduction or removal of Stroop interference was achieved after short exposure to primes eliciting positive affect, but this effect was need specific: Strooop interference removal (volitional facilitation) was found with positive primes related to achievement needs but not with positivePrime related to affiliation or power needs.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Stroop Color-Word Test: Indicator of Dementia Severity

TL;DR: The importance of partialling out underlying deficits for the understanding of complex cognitive processes in dementia is demonstrated, due to variations in speed-accuracy tradeoff for the patient groups due to differences in information processing deficits, linguistic impairment, and attitudes to errors.

Semantic power measured through the interference of words with color-naming.

TL;DR: The sources of the word's power to interfere with color-naming and the events involved in the interference itself have not received much attention.
