Femtosecond spectroscopy in semiconductors: a key to coherences, correlations and quantum kinetics

TL;DR: The application of femtosecond spectroscopy to the study of ultrafast dynamics in semiconductor materials and nanostructures is reviewed with particular emphasis on the physics that can be learned from it as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Relaxation dynamics of photoexcitations in polydiacetylenes and polythiophene

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the relaxation dynamics of photoexcitations in cast films of polydiacetylenes, poly[4,6-decadiyne-1,10-diol bis([(n-butoxycarbonyl)methyl]urethane)] (PDA-3BCMU) and poly[5,7-dodecadiyn- 1,12-diox bis([n- butoxycarbonyl)methyl)urethANE)] (pDA-4BCMU), and in electrochemically prepared
Journal ArticleDOI

Ultrafast carrier thermalization in lead iodide perovskite probed with two-dimensional electronic spectroscopy

TL;DR: Richter et al. as mentioned in this paper used two-dimensional electronic spectroscopy with sub-10-fs resolution to directly observe the carrier interactions that lead to a thermal carrier distribution and found that thermalization occurs dominantly via carrier-carrier scattering under the investigated fluences.
Journal ArticleDOI

Picosecond time-resolved adsorbate response to substrate heating : spectroscopy and dynamics of co/cu(100)

TL;DR: In this paper, the response of CO/Cu(100) near 2086 cm−1 (ν1) to resonant infrared, and nonresonant visible and ultraviolet pumping is measured on a picosecond time scale.
Journal ArticleDOI

Coherent dynamics and pump-probe spectra of BCS superconductors

TL;DR: In this article, the authors employed the density matrix formalism to calculate pump-probe spectra of BCS superconductors in the coherent regime and two dynamical regimes, one adiabatic and one nonadiabatic, can be clearly distinguished.
