TLDR
The Riemannsche Theorie der algebraischen Funktionen as discussed by the authors is a Theorie von der graphisch uber der komplexen Zahlenebene.
Abstract

Pruned Hurwitz numbers

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors define a new enumeration that restricts the count to branched covers satisfying an additional constraint and obtain a new proof of the Witten-Kontsevich theorem.

Measuring the knot of non-Hermitian degeneracies and non-commuting braids

TL;DR: In this article , the authors show that control loops generically produce braids of eigenfrequencies, and for [Formula: see text] these braids form a non-Abelian group that reflects the non-trivial geometry of the space of degeneracies.

Minimal Transitive Factorizations of Permutations into Cycles

TL;DR: A new approach to an enumerative problem closely linked with the geometry of branched coverings, where the number of ways a given permutation can be decomposed into a product of exactly two or two cycles is studied.

Realization of Primitive Branched Coverings Over Closed Surfaces

TL;DR: In this article, Berstein-Edmonds and Edmonds-Kulkarni-Stong showed that for a surface V different from the sphere and the projective plane and = 1, the corresponding branched covering exists if and only if the data D fulfills the Hurwitz congruence v(D) ≡ 0 mod 2.
