We argue that the newly discovered superconductivity in a nearly magnetic, Fe-based layered compound is unconventional and mediated by antiferromagnetic spin fluctuations, though different from the usual superexchange and specific to this compound. This resulting state is an example of extended s-wave pairing with a sign reversal of the order parameter between different Fermi surface sheets. The main role of doping in this scenario is to lower the density of states and suppress the pair-breaking ferromagnetic fluctuations.read more

Simultaneous emergence of superconductivity, inter-pocket scattering and nematic fluctuation in potassium-coated FeSe superconductor
Z. R. Ye,Chaofan Zhang,Honglie Ning,Wei Li,L. Chen,Tao Jia,Makoto Hashimoto,Donghui Lu,Zhi-Xun Shen,Youyi Zhang +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors studied the systematic evolution of electronic structure in a potassium-coated FeSe single crystal and found that the superconductivity emerges when the inter-pocket scattering between two electron pockets is turned on by a Lifshitz transition of Fermi surface.

$S_4$ Symmetric Microscopic Model for Iron-Based Superconductors
Jiangping Hu,Ningning Hao +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that the low energy physics which is responsible for high-T_c$ superconductivity is essentially governed by one effective Hamiltonian with two almost decoupled orbitals near half filling.

Gap structure in the electron-doped Iron-Arsenide Superconductor Ba(Fe0.92Co0.08)2As2: low-temperature specific heat study
Krzysztof Gofryk,Athena S. Sefat,Eric D. Bauer,Michael A. McGuire,Brian C. Sales,David Mandrus,Joe D. Thompson,Filip Ronning +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the field and temperature dependence of the low-temperature specific heat down to 400 mK and in magnetic fields up to 9 T of the electron-doped Ba(Fe0.92Co0.08)2As2 superconductor was reported.

Effect of gap anisotropy on the spin resonance peak in the superconducting state of iron-based materials
TL;DR: In this paper, the spin resonance in the superconducting state of Fe-based materials within the multiorbital model with unequal anisotropic gaps on different Fermi surface sheets is studied.

ANOMALOUS ELASTIC BEHAVIOR AND ITS CORRELATION WITH SUPERCONDUCTIVITY IN IRON-BASED SUPERCONDUCTOR Ba(Fe1-xCox)2As2
TL;DR: In this paper, the elastic properties of Ba(Fe1-xCox)2As2 with various Co concentrations x were reviewed and it was suggested that the structural fluctuation, which is measured by S66, plays an important role in the emergence of superconductivity.
