Analysis of rectangular horn antennas via uniform asymptotic theory
R. Menendez,Shung-Wu Lee +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, an analytical expression for the far-field radiation pattern and modal reflection coefficient of the three-dimensional horn antenna was developed. But the analysis was performed using a multiple-image model of the two-dimensional Horn-waveguide structure and the results showed that the measured patterns of several horns were convincingly recovered by the prediction of the analytical model.
Journal ArticleDOI
The mathematical theory of noise shielding
TL;DR: In this article, the basic equations in the absence of flow are defined and Kirchhoff's solution is proposed for a semi-infinite plane and Wedge 2.1.

A simplified expression of the dyadic Green's function for a conducting half-sheet
TL;DR: In this paper, simple analytical expressions of the dyadic Green's function for a conducting half-sheet have been derived, which can be easily calculated by a digital computer and are much simpler than those involving the vector mode function expansion.

Ultrasonic Caustics in Non-Destructive Evaluation.
TL;DR: The case of crack-like defects is considered in detail using the geometrical theory of diffraction in this article, where caustics formed in the field diffracted by defects are explored theoretically as a possible approach to the inverse scattering problem for ultrasonic non-destructive evaluation.

Wave propagation in metamaterials mimicking the topology of a cosmic string
TL;DR: In this article, the interference and diffraction of light when it propagates through a metamaterial medium mimicking the spacetime of a cosmic string was studied, where the light propagates in a region where the Riemann tensor vanishes being nonetheless affected by the nonzero curvature confined to the string core.

Uniform asymptotic theory of edge diffraction
Robert M. Lewis,J Joop Boersma +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a uniform asymptotic theory of diffraction was proposed, which is uniformly valid near edges and shadow boundaries, but not at any caustics other than the edge.

Diffraction of a Scalar Wave by a Plane Screen
TL;DR: In this paper, a method for obtaining a uniform representation of the diffracted field produced when a scalar wave is incident upon a plane screen with a curved edge is presented, where the first term in this representation is continuous at the edge and on the shadow boundaries.
