TL;DR: It is found that children genetically obese with Prader–Willi syndrome shared a similar dysbiosis in their gut microbiota with those having diet-related obesity, which contributes to the alleviation of metabolic deteriorations in obesity regardless of the primary driving forces.
Journal ArticleDOI
Greater vegetable and fruit intake is associated with a lower risk of breast cancer among Chinese women.
TL;DR: Consumption of individual vegetable and fruit groups such as dark green leafy vegetables, cruciferous vegetables, carrots and tomatoes, banana, watermelon/papaya/cantaloupe were all inversely and significantly related with breast cancer risk.
Journal ArticleDOI
Methylmercury exposure and health effects from rice and fish consumption: a review.
Ping Li,Xinbin Feng,Guangle Qiu +2 more
TL;DR: Progress is reviewed in the research on MeHG accumulation in rice, human exposure and health effects, and nutrient and co-contaminant interactions, with appropriate recommendations, as needed, to reduce MeHg exposure in the rice-eating population.
Journal ArticleDOI
Greenhouse Gas Emissions Accounting of Urban Residential Consumption: A Household Survey Based Approach
TL;DR: A survey-based GHG emissions accounting methodology for urban residential consumption is presented, and applied in Xiamen City, a rapidly urbanizing coastal city in southeast China, to contribute to better tailored and targeted policies aimed at reducing householdGHG emissions, and developing low GHG emission residential communities in China.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bamboo shoot fiber prevents obesity in mice by modulating the gut microbiota.
TL;DR: Evidence of a quality difference among different types of dietary fibers is provided and it is shown that bamboo shoot fiber is the most effective in suppressing high-fat diet induced obesity and improves host metabolism.
