Zur Validität der deutschen Übersetzung des Morningness-Eveningness-Questionnaires von Horne und Östberg
TLDR
The Vergleichbarkeit mit der internationalen Literatur is ein entscheidendes Kriterium bei der Wahl von Testinstrumenten.Abstract:
Biological and social aspects. Pergamon Press Oxford, 1981) sowie der Nadir der Korperkerntemperatur und der Beginn der nachtlich erhohten Melatoninkonzentration im Speichel.read more

Reviewing the psychometric properties of contemporary circadian typology measures.
TL;DR: Good-quality subjective and objective data suggest adequate construct validity for each of the CT instruments, but a major limitation of this literature is studies that assess the predictive validity of these instruments.

Drivers' misjudgement of vigilance state during prolonged monotonous daytime driving
Eike A. Schmidt,Michael Schrauf,Michael Schrauf,Michael Simon,Michael Simon,Martin Fritzsche,Axel Buchner,Wilhelm Kincses +7 more
TL;DR: Findings indicate a lack of self-assessment abilities after approximately 3h of continuous monotonous daytime driving, which was contrary to the continued decrease in vigilance as indicated by all performance and physiological measures.

Gender differences in morningness–eveningness assessed by self-report questionnaires: A meta-analysis
TL;DR: In this paper, a meta-analysis suggests a weak but significant effect of gender on morningness (overall effect size E −0.097 under a fixed effects model and E − 0.0845 under a random effects model).

Promoting Sleep Oscillations and Their Functional Coupling by Transcranial Stimulation Enhances Memory Consolidation in Mild Cognitive Impairment.
Julia Ladenbauer,Julia Ladenbauer,Josef Ladenbauer,Josef Ladenbauer,Nadine Külzow,Rebecca de Boor,Elena Avramova,Ulrike Grittner,Agnes Flöel,Agnes Flöel +9 more
TL;DR: First time evidence is provided that slow oscillatory transcranial stimulation amplifies the functional cross-frequency coupling between memory-relevant brain oscillations and improves visual memory consolidation in patients with MCI.

Correlation between morningness – eveningness and final school leaving exams
Christoph Randler,Daniela Frech +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors found a highly significant positive correlation between the average grading of the final exam and the morningness score, suggesting that pupils with morning preferences performed better in school achievement.

A self-assessment questionnaire to determine morningness-eveningness in human circadian rhythms.

TL;DR: Although the questionnaire appears to be valid, further evaluation using a wider subject population is required, as sleep habits are an important déterminant of peak time there are other contibutory factors, and these appear to be partly covered by the questionnaire.

Inter-individual differences in the human circadian system: A review
TL;DR: It is argued that the differences in rhythm parameters associated with the personality dimension of introversion-extraversion are the result of exogenous influences in the intrinsic period of the circadian system.

Relationship of endogenous circadian melatonin and temperature rhythms to self-reported preference for morning or evening activity in young and older people.
TL;DR: An association between circadian phase, the relationship between the sleep-wake cycle and circadianphase, and morningness-eveningness in young adults is demonstrated and age-related changes in phase angle cannot be attributed fully to an age- related shift toward morningness.

The dim light melatonin onset as a marker for circadian phase position.
Alfred J. Lewy,Robert L. Sack +1 more
TL;DR: By measuring the onset of melatonin production, a clearly demarcated event, the authors can reliably assess circadian phase position, provided blood is sampled under dim light (the dim light melatonin onset, or DLMO), which has been useful in assessing the phase-shifting properties of bright light and in phase typing patients with chronobiologic disorders, such as winter depression.

Morning-type, and evening-type individuals differ in the phase position of their endogenous circadian oscillator
TL;DR: Two groups of subjects were selected and monitored during entrained, habitual sleep-wake conditions and during 24 h of controlled wakefulness in a laboratory-based constant-routine procedure, and evidence is provided for the endogenous nature of morningness-eveningness.
