Journal ArticleDOI

Hindlimb patterning and mandible development require the Ptx1 gene.

TL;DR: It is shown that targeted inactivation of the mouse Ptx1 gene severely impairs hindlimb development: the ilium and knee cartilage are absent and the long bones are underdeveloped, and the dual role of P TX1 revealed by the gene knockout may reflect features of the mammalian jaw and hindlimbs that were acquired at a similar time during tetrapod evolution.
Journal ArticleDOI

Therapeutic potential of nanoparticulate systems for macrophage targeting.

TL;DR: An overview of the usefulness of nanoparticles for macrophage-mediated therapies in particular is presented and the most important parameters that affect the interaction mechanisms of the macrophages and the physicochemical aspects of the particulate systems that may influence their performance in macophage-targeted therapies are underlined.
Journal ArticleDOI

Melatonin signaling dysfunction in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis.

TL;DR: In this paper, osteoblast cultures were used to test the ability of melatonin and Gpp(NH)p, a GTP analogue, to block cAMP accumulation induced by forskolin.
