Journal ArticleDOI

Community diversity and invasion resistance: An experimental test in a grassland ecosystem and a review of comparable studies

TL;DR: In biodiversity manipulation experiments more diverse communities are generally more resistant to invasion, and positive effects of species diversity on invasion resistance were found in experimental manipulations of plant diversity conducted in the field and in the glasshouse.
Journal ArticleDOI

Resource dilution effects on specialist insect herbivores in a grassland biodiversity experiment

TL;DR: As expected, specialist herbivore species were more likely to be present when their host-plant species were abundant; however, counter to predictions, in plots where specialists were present the authors found strong negative linear relationships between herbivor loads and host- plant abundances - a 'resource dilution' rather than concentration effect.
Journal ArticleDOI

Contributions of a global network of tree diversity experiments to sustainable forest plantations

Kris Verheyen, +37 more
TL;DR: Early results on the carbon sequestration and pest resistance potential of more diverse plantations are highlighted and suggestions are made for new, innovative experiments in understudied regions to complement the existing network.
