Impacts of species richness on productivity in a large-scale subtropical forest experiment.

Yuanyuan Huang, +68 more
- 05 Oct 2018 -
TL;DR: The first results from a large biodiversity experiment in a subtropical forest in China suggest strong positive effects of tree diversity on forest productivity and carbon accumulation, and encourage multispecies afforestation strategies to restore biodiversity and mitigate climate change.
Journal ArticleDOI

Canopy structure and topography jointly constrain the microclimate of human-modified tropical landscapes

TL;DR: Topography and vegetation structure were strong predictors of local microclimate, with elevation and terrain curvature primarily constraining daily mean temperatures and vapour pressure deficit (VPD), whereas canopy height had a clear dampening effect on microclimate extremes.
