A Comprehensive Proteomics Analysis of the Human Iris Tissue: Ready to Embrace Postgenomics Precision Medicine in Ophthalmology?
Krishna R Murthy,Krishna R Murthy,Manjunath Dammalli,Sneha M. Pinto,Kalpana Babu Murthy,Raja Sekhar Nirujogi,Anil K. Madugundu,Gourav Dey,Yashwanth Subbannayya,Uttam Kumar Mishra,Bipin G. Nair,Harsha Gowda,T. S. Keshava Prasad,T. S. Keshava Prasad +13 more
TL;DR: This study is the first attempt to comprehensively profile the global proteome of the human iris tissue and offers the potential to facilitate biomedical research into pathological diseases of the uvea such as Behcet's disease, Vogt Koyonagi Harada’s disease, and juvenile rheumatoid arthritis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Toward Postgenomics Ophthalmology: A Proteomic Map of the Human Choroid-Retinal Pigment Epithelium Tissue.
Manjunath Dammalli,Krishna R Murthy,Krishna R Murthy,Sneha M. Pinto,Kalpana Babu Murthy,Raja Sekhar Nirujogi,Anil K. Madugundu,Gourav Dey,Bipin G. Nair,Harsha Gowda,Thottethodi Subrahmanya Keshava Prasad,Thottethodi Subrahmanya Keshava Prasad +11 more
TL;DR: This study illustrates the largest number of proteins identified in human choroid-RPE complex to date and might serve as a valuable resource for future investigations and biomarker discovery in support of postgenomics ophthalmology and precision medicine.
