Palladium alloys used as electrocatalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction

TL;DR: In this paper, a scientometric analysis and critical review of the use of Palladium-based alloy materials as cathodes for the reduction of oxygen is presented, with the aid of volcano plots to show the general principles for catalyst modifications to maximize the ORR.
Journal ArticleDOI

Tandem site and size controlled Pd nanoparticles for the directed hydrogenation of furfural

TL;DR: In this article, the tandem control of particle size and site availability for the directed hydrogenation of the bioderived intermediate furfural has been studied, through optimized colloidal synthesis, and it has been shown that Pd nanoparticle planes are more prone to deactivation through the formation of Pd carbide.
Journal ArticleDOI

Room temperature methoxylation in zeolites: insight into a key step of the methanol-to-hydrocarbons process

TL;DR: No methoxylation was observed in a commercial HY sample, attributed to the dealumination involved in high silica HY synthesis, and methanol immobility and vibrational spectra matched by ab initio calculations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Directed aqueous-phase reforming of glycerol through tailored platinum nanoparticles

TL;DR: In this paper, a structure-activity relationship for the aqueous phase reforming of glycerol over 2% Pt/Al2O3 catalysts was established, whereby the reaction pathway can be controlled to produce either hydrogen or 1,2-propanediol as the main product.
