Palladium alloys used as electrocatalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction
Tianlei Wang,Arunabhiram Chutia,Dan J. L. Brett,Paul R. Shearing,Guanjie He,Guanjie He,Guo-Liang Chai,Ivan P. Parkin +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a scientometric analysis and critical review of the use of Palladium-based alloy materials as cathodes for the reduction of oxygen is presented, with the aid of volcano plots to show the general principles for catalyst modifications to maximize the ORR.
Journal ArticleDOI
Tandem site and size controlled Pd nanoparticles for the directed hydrogenation of furfural
Scott M. Rogers,Scott M. Rogers,C. Richard A. Catlow,C. Richard A. Catlow,C. Richard A. Catlow,Carine E. Chan-Thaw,Arunabhiram Chutia,Arunabhiram Chutia,Nan Jian,Richard E. Palmer,Michal Perdjon,Michal Perdjon,Michal Perdjon,Adam Thetford,Adam Thetford,Nikolaos Dimitratos,Nikolaos Dimitratos,Alberto Villa,Alberto Villa,Peter P. Wells +19 more
TL;DR: In this article, the tandem control of particle size and site availability for the directed hydrogenation of the bioderived intermediate furfural has been studied, through optimized colloidal synthesis, and it has been shown that Pd nanoparticle planes are more prone to deactivation through the formation of Pd carbide.
Journal ArticleDOI
Structural selectivity of supported Pd nanoparticles for catalytic NH3 oxidation resolved using combined operando spectroscopy
Ellie K. Dann,Ellie K. Dann,Emma K. Gibson,Emma K. Gibson,Rachel H. Blackmore,Rachel H. Blackmore,C. Richard A. Catlow,C. Richard A. Catlow,C. Richard A. Catlow,Paul Collier,Arunabhiram Chutia,Arunabhiram Chutia,Tugce Eralp Erden,Christopher Hardacre,Christopher Hardacre,Anna Kroner,Maarten Nachtegaal,Agnes Raj,Scott M. Rogers,Scott M. Rogers,S. F. Rebecca Taylor,Paul Thompson,George F. Tierney,George F. Tierney,Constantinos D. Zeinalipour-Yazdi,Constantinos D. Zeinalipour-Yazdi,Alexandre Goguet,Alexandre Goguet,Peter P. Wells,Peter P. Wells +29 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a link between Pd nanoparticle structure and surface reactivity was found using operando X-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy, diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier-transformed spectrograms and on-line mass spectrometry.
Journal ArticleDOI
Room temperature methoxylation in zeolites: insight into a key step of the methanol-to-hydrocarbons process
Alexander J. O'Malley,Alexander J. O'Malley,Stewart F. Parker,Arunabhiram Chutia,Matthew R. Farrow,Ian P. Silverwood,Victoria Garcia-Sakai,C. Richard A. Catlow,C. Richard A. Catlow,C. Richard A. Catlow +9 more
TL;DR: No methoxylation was observed in a commercial HY sample, attributed to the dealumination involved in high silica HY synthesis, and methanol immobility and vibrational spectra matched by ab initio calculations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Directed aqueous-phase reforming of glycerol through tailored platinum nanoparticles
June Callison,June Callison,Nachal D. Subramanian,Nachal D. Subramanian,Scott M. Rogers,Scott M. Rogers,Arunabhiram Chutia,Arunabhiram Chutia,Diego Gianolio,C. R. A. Catlow,C. R. A. Catlow,C. R. A. Catlow,Peter P. Wells,Peter P. Wells,Nikolaos Dimitratos +14 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a structure-activity relationship for the aqueous phase reforming of glycerol over 2% Pt/Al2O3 catalysts was established, whereby the reaction pathway can be controlled to produce either hydrogen or 1,2-propanediol as the main product.
