Clinical Features and Outcomes of Takotsubo (Stress) Cardiomyopathy
Christian Templin,Jelena R. Ghadri,Johanna Diekmann,L. Christian Napp,Dana Roxana Bataiosu,Milosz Jaguszewski,Victoria L. Cammann,Annahita Sarcon,Verena Geyer,Catharina A. Neumann,Burkhardt Seifert,Jens P. Hellermann,Moritz Schwyzer,Katharina Eisenhardt,Josef Jenewein,Jennifer Franke,Hugo A. Felix,Clément Delmas,Olivier Lairez,Paul Erne,Jeroen J. Bax,Ian Ford,Frank Ruschitzka,Abhiram Prasad,Thomas F. Lüscher +68 more
TL;DR: Patients with takotsubo cardiomyopathy had a higher prevalence of neurologic or psychiatric disorders than did those with an acute coronary syndrome and physical triggers, acute neurologics or psychiatric diseases, high troponin levels, and a low ejection fraction on admission were independent predictors for in-hospital complications.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ca2+/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II regulates cardiac Na+ channels
Stefan Wagner,Nataliya Dybkova,Eva C.L. Rasenack,Claudius Jacobshagen,Larissa Fabritz,Paulus Kirchhof,Sebastian Maier,Tong Zhang,Gerd Hasenfuss,Joan Heller Brown,Donald M. Bers,Lars S. Maier +11 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that CaMKII associates with and phosphorylates cardiac Na(+) channels and alters I( Na) gating to reduce availability at high heart rate, while enhancing late I(Na) (which could prolong action potential duration) in mice.
Journal ArticleDOI
Guided de-escalation of antiplatelet treatment in patients with acute coronary syndrome undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (TROPICAL-ACS): a randomised, open-label, multicentre trial
Dirk Sibbing,Daniel Aradi,Claudius Jacobshagen,Lisa Gross,Dietmar Trenk,Tobias Geisler,Martin Orban,Martin Hadamitzky,Béla Merkely,Róbert Gábor Kiss,András Komócsi,Csaba András Dézsi,Lesca M. Nienaber,Henning Radunski,Peter Boekstegers,Jan Horstkotte,Ralf Mueller,Karin Müller,Robert Schwinger,Oliver Rasp +94 more
TL;DR: The trial shows that early de-escalation of antiplatelet treatment can be considered as an alternative approach in patients with acute coronary syndrome managed with PCI and was non-inferior to standard treatment with prasugrel at 1 year after PCI.
Journal ArticleDOI
ISAR-SAFE: a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial of 6 vs. 12 months of clopidogrel therapy after drug-eluting stenting.
Stefanie Schulz-Schüpke,Robert A. Byrne,Jurriën M. ten Berg,Franz-Josef Neumann,Yaling Han,Tom Adriaenssens,Ralph Tölg,Melchior Seyfarth,Michael Maeng,Bernhard Zrenner,Claudius Jacobshagen,Harald Mudra,Eberhard von Hodenberg,Jochen Wöhrle,Dominick J. Angiolillo,Barbara von Merzljak,Nonglag Rifatov,Sebastian Kufner,Tanja Morath,Antonia Feuchtenberger,Tareq Ibrahim,Paul W.A. Janssen,Christian M. Valina,Yi Li,Walter Desmet,Mohamed Abdel-Wahab,Klaus Tiroch,Christian Hengstenberg,Isabell Bernlochner,Marcus Fischer,Heribert Schunkert,Karl-Ludwig Laugwitz,Albert Schömig,Julinda Mehilli,Adnan Kastrati,Intracoronary Stenting +35 more
TL;DR: The present trial, characterized by low event rates, did not observe a significant difference in net clinical outcome between 6 and 12 months of clopidogrel therapy after DES implantation, but the results of the trial must be considered in view of its premature termination and lower than expected event rates.
Journal ArticleDOI
Impact of treatment delay on mortality in ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients presenting with and without haemodynamic instability: results from the German prospective, multicentre FITT-STEMI trial.
Karl Heinrich Scholz,Sebastian Maier,Lars S. Maier,Björn Lengenfelder,Claudius Jacobshagen,Jens Jung,Claus Fleischmann,Gerald S. Werner,Hans G Olbrich,Rainer Ott,Harald Mudra,Karlheinz Seidl,P. Christian Schulze,Christian Weiss,Josef Haimerl,Tim Friede,Thomas Meyer +16 more
TL;DR: In patients with CS, the time elapsing from the first medical contact to primary PCI is a strong predictor of an adverse outcome, hence special efforts to shorten contact-to-balloon time should be applied in particular to these high-risk STEMI patients.
