Global CO2 emissions from dry inland waters share common drivers across ecosystems

Philipp S. Keller, +51 more
TL;DR: A global survey covering 196 dry inland waters shows that their CO2 emissions share fundamental drivers and constitute a substantial fraction of the carbon cycled by inland waters, increasing current inland water carbon flux estimates by 6%.

Dynamic of fish trophic guilds in the plateau-plain gradient in the Paraguay River, Northern Pantanal

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors evaluated the dynamics of fish trophic guilds according to the longitudinal gradient of the Paraguay River, northern Pantanal, Brazil, and found that the environmental variable that best explains the abundance of piscivorous fishes in the segments sampled in the Paraguayan River was water transparency, temperature, altitude, river width and dense forest proportion.
