Canine Skin and Conjunctival Swab Samples for the Detection and Quantification of Leishmania infantum DNA in an Endemic Urban Area in Brazil

TL;DR: The conjunctival swab is a suitable clinical sample for qualitative molecular diagnosis of CVL and the qPCR results emphasized the role of dogs, particularly asymptomatic dogs, as reservoirs for CVL because of the high cutaneous parasite loads.
Journal ArticleDOI

Combination oral therapy against Leishmania amazonensis infection in BALB/c mice using nanoassemblies made from amphiphilic antimony(V) complex incorporating miltefosine.

TL;DR: This work establishes the therapeutic benefit of SbL8/HePC association by oral route in a CL model and constitutes an important step towards the development of new orally active drug combination.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Popularity dynamics of foursquare micro-reviews

Journal ArticleDOI

Antileishmanial activity of fullerol and its liposomal formulation in experimental models of visceral leishmaniasis

TL;DR: The antileishmanial activity of fullerol was reported for the first time and an innovative approach for treatment of VL based on the association of this nanostructure with liposomes is introduced.
