TL;DR: The data demonstrated that vaccination with a single dose of LdCen(-/-) (without any adjuvant) resulted in the reduction of up to 87.3% of parasite burden after 18 months of virulent challenge, comparable to those obtained with commercially available vaccine in Brazil (Leishmune(®).

TL;DR: A novel standardized method for early experimental Ascaris infection is demonstrated, providing additional information about the infectivity of eggs embryonated in vitro as well as the influence of host age on development of the infection, and the immunopathology of early infection is characterised.
