Journal ArticleDOI
Proposed minimum reporting standards for chemical analysis
Lloyd W. Sumner,Alexander Amberg,Dave Barrett,Michael H. Beale,Richard D. Beger,Clare A. Daykin,Teresa W.-M. Fan,Oliver Fiehn,Royston Goodacre,Julian L. Griffin,Thomas Hankemeier,Nigel Hardy,James M. Harnly,Richard M. Higashi,Joachim Kopka,Andrew N. Lane,John C. Lindon,Philip J. Marriott,Andrew W. Nicholls,Michael D. Reily,John J. Thaden,Mark R. Viant +21 more
TL;DR: This article proposes the minimum reporting standards related to the chemical analysis aspects of metabolomics experiments including: sample preparation, experimental analysis, quality control, metabolite identification, and data pre-processing.
Journal ArticleDOI
Palmitoylethanolamide and Cannabidiol Prevent Inflammation-induced Hyperpermeability of the Human Gut In Vitro and In Vivo-A Randomized, Placebo-controlled, Double-blind Controlled Trial.
DG Couch,Hollie Cook,Catherine A. Ortori,Dave Barrett,Jonathan N. Lund,Saoirse E. O'Sullivan +5 more
TL;DR: Cannabidiol and palmitoylethanolamide reduce permeability in the human colon and have implications in disorders associated with increased gut permeability, such as inflammatory bowel disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
Drug release from HPMC matrices in milk and fat‐rich emulsions
TL;DR: It is proposed that the aqueous portion of the emulsion is removed by the hydrating matrix, causing coalescence and deposition of a fat layer at the surface, and these deposits cause slower drug release by reducing the matrix surface area available for release.
Journal ArticleDOI
Lipidomic identification of plasma lipids associated with pain behaviour and pathology in a mouse model of osteoarthritis
Petros Pousinis,Peter R W Gowler,James J. Burston,Catherine A. Ortori,Victoria Chapman,Dave Barrett +5 more
TL;DR: Plasma lipid species associated with pain and/or pathology in a DMM model of OA are identified and all six lipid species were positively correlated with cartilage damage.
Journal ArticleDOI
Characterisation of a micro-plasma for ambient mass spectrometry imaging.
A. Bowfield,A. Bowfield,Josephine Bunch,Tara L. Salter,Rory T. Steven,Ian S. Gilmore,Dave Barrett,Morgan R. Alexander,Kirsty McKay,James W. Bradley +9 more
TL;DR: A mass spectral image of cardamom seeds, constructed using the variation in intensity of possible fragments of the 1,8-cineole molecule, is included to reveal the potential application to the imaging of foods and other biological materials.
