Experimental test of a 40 cm-long R=100 000 spectrometer for exoplanet characterisation
Guillaume Bourdarot,Etienne Le Coarer,David Mouillet,Jean-Jacques Correia,Laurent Jocou,P. Rabou,Alexis Carlotti,Xavier Bonfils,Étienne Artigau,Philippe Vallée,René Doyon,Thierry Forveille,Eric Stadler,Yves Magnard,Arthur Vigan +14 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors propose an innovative echelle spectrometer based on the use of VIPA (Virtually Imaged Phased Array, Shirasaki 1996), a particular kind of Fabry-Perot interferometer used as an angular disperser with much greater dispersive power than common diffraction grating.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mapping of shadows cast on a protoplanetary disk by a close binary system

Schmidt,Judit Szulágyi,Christian Thalmann,P. Thebault,G. van der Plas,G. van der Plas,Arthur Vigan,Alice Zurlo,Alice Zurlo +58 more
TL;DR: In this paper, high-contrast imaging observations of V4046 Sagittarii, a 20-Myr-old close binary known to host a circumbinary disk, have been used to calculate a distance that is in very good agreement with the value obtained from the Gaia mission's Data Release 2 (DR2), and flaring angles of α = 6.2
Proceedings ArticleDOI
SPHERE: the VLT planet imager in the post FDR phase
Francois Wildi,Jean-Luc Beuzit,Markus Feldt,David Mouillet,Kjetil Dohlen,Pascal Puget,Andrea Baruffolo,Julien Charton,Pierre Baudoz,Anthony Boccaletti,Lyu Abe,Riccardo Claudi,Philippe Feautrier,Thierry Fusco,Raffaele Gratton,Norbert Hubin,Markus Kasper,Maud Langlois,Rainer Lenzen,A. Pavlov,Cyril Petit,Johan Pragt,Patrick Rabou,Ronald Roelfsema,Michel Saisse,Hans Martin Schmid,Eric Stadler,Claire Moutou,Massimo Turatto,Stéphane Udry,Rens Waters,Thomas Henning,Anne-Marie Lagrange,Farrokh Vakili +33 more
TL;DR: SPHERE, the ESO extra-solar planet imager for the VLT, is aimed at the direct detection and spectral characterization of the extra solar planets as discussed by the authors. But its whole design is optimized towards reaching the highest contrast in a limited field of view and at short distances from the central star.
Journal ArticleDOI
Searching for the sub-stellar companions in the LkCa15 proto-planetary disk
Mariangela Bonavita,Mariangela Bonavita,Gael Chauvin,Anthony Boccaletti,Vincent Piétu,Pierre Baudoz,J. L. Beuzit,Anne Dutrey,Stéphane Guilloteau,A-M. Lagrange,David Mouillet,G. Niccolini +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used the most recent developments of high angular resolution and high contrast imaging to search directly for the existence of this putative companion, and to bring new constraints on its physical and orbital properties.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: In this article, high-contrast imaging observations of V4046 Sagittarii, a 20-Myr-old close binary known to host a circumbinary disk, have been used to detect rotating shadows in the disk caused by mutual occultations of the central binary.
