Journal ArticleDOI
Identification of Bacteria Using Tandem Mass Spectrometry Combined with a Proteome Database and Statistical Scoring
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that using a preset criterion with known distributions of discriminant function scores and probabilities of correct peptide sequence assignments, a test bacterium within the 87 database microorganisms can be unambiguously identified.
Journal ArticleDOI
Exposome-Explorer: a manually-curated database on biomarkers of exposure to dietary and environmental factors.
Vanessa Neveu,Alice Moussy,Héloïse Rouaix,Roland Wedekind,Allison Pon,Craig Knox,David S. Wishart,Augustin Scalbert +7 more
TL;DR: The database and the web interface were developed using the Ruby on Rails framework and should be particularly useful for epidemiologists and clinicians wishing to select panels of biomarkers that can be used in biomonitoring studies or in exposome-wide association studies, thereby allowing them to better understand the etiology of chronic diseases.
Journal ArticleDOI
Identification of predictive biomarkers of disease state in transition dairy cows
Dagnachew Hailemariam,Rupasri Mandal,Fozia Saleem,Suzanna M. Dunn,David S. Wishart,Burim N. Ametaj +5 more
TL;DR: A 3-metabolite plasma biomarker profile was developed that could predict which cows would develop periparturient diseases, up to 4 wk before clinical symptoms appearing, with a sensitivity and specificity of 87% and a specificity of 85%.
Journal ArticleDOI
The transcriptome of the implant biopsy identifies donor kidneys at increased risk of delayed graft function.
Thomas F. Mueller,Jeff Reeve,Gian S. Jhangri,Michael Mengel,Z. Jacaj,Lucas V. Cairo,M. Obeidat,Gerald Todd,Ronald B. Moore,Konrad S. Famulski,Joseph A. Cruz,David S. Wishart,C. Meng,Banu Sis,Kim Solez,Bruce Kaplan,Philip F. Halloran +16 more
TL;DR: The transcriptome reflects kidney quality and susceptibility to DGF better than available clinical and histopathological scoring systems.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis and evaluation of keto-glutamine analogues as potent inhibitors of severe acute respiratory syndrome 3CLpro.
Rajendra Parasmal Jain,Hanna I Pettersson,Jianmin Zhang,Katherine D Aull,Pascal D. Fortin,Carly Huitema,Lindsay D. Eltis,Jonathan C Parrish,Michael N.G. James,David S. Wishart,John C. Vederas +10 more
TL;DR: A series of keto-glutamine analogues with a phthalhydrazido group at the alpha-position were synthesized and tested as reversible inhibitiors against SARS 3CL(pro), and attachment of tripeptide to these glutamine-based "warheads" generated significantly better inhibitors.
