Enantioselective Catalysis: Influence of Conversion and Bulk Diffusion Limitations on Selectivity in the Hydrogenation of Ethyl Pyruvate

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied the hydrogenation of ethyl pyruvate over dihydrocinchonidine-modified Pt.II and showed a marked trend of increasing optical yield with increasing conversion, ultimately reaching a plateau between 54-58% enantiomeric excess at high conversion.
Journal ArticleDOI

Asymmetric hydrogenation of ethyl pyruvate : Relationship between conversion and enantioselectivity

TL;DR: In this article, a reaction-driven equilibration of the surface environment for optimal enantioselective catalysis was proposed for these reactions carried out under conditions where moderate enantiorelectivities are observed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mechanistic study of the Soai autocatalytic reaction informed by kinetic analysis

TL;DR: In this article, a detailed kinetic analysis of the Soai reaction is presented, showing that the reaction product is driven strongly and without bias towards the formation of homochiral and heterochiral dimers.
Journal ArticleDOI

Kinetic Investigations of Product Inhibition in the Amino Alcohol-Catalyzed Asymmetric Alkylation of Benzaldehyde with Diethylzinc

TL;DR: In situ reaction rate measurements help to define the role of product inhibition in the asymmetric alkylation of benzaldehyde with diethylzinc using (-)-MIB as a chiral reagent.
