J. A. M. McDonnell,W. M. Alexander,W. M. Burton,E. Bussoletti,D. H. Clark,R. J. L. Grard,Eberhard Grün,Martha S. Hanner,David W. Hughes,Eduard Igenbergs,H. Kuczera,Bertil Anders Lindblad,J.C. Stevenson,R. F. Turner +27 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the density and the mass spectrum of the dust near comet Halley have been measured by the Giotto space probe's dust impact detection system, showing depletion in small and intermediate masses; at about 600 km from the nucleus, however, the dust activity rises and the spectrum is dominated by larger masses.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dust in jupiter's magnetosphere: Physical processes
TL;DR: In this article, the physical processes acting on charged microscopic dust grains in the Jovian magnetosphere are examined and it is shown that electromagnetic forces dominate the dust particle dynamics, and these particles behave adiabatically, in the sense that the guiding centre approximation to their motion applies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comet 67p/churyumov–gerasimenko: close-up on dust particle fragments

Revillet,Sandra Siljeström,Oliver Stenzel,B. Zaprudin +47 more
TL;DR: The COmetary Secondary Ion Mass Analyser instrument on board ESA's Rosetta mission has collected dust particles in the coma of comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko.
Journal ArticleDOI
Development of a dust mantle on the surface of an insolated ice-dust mixture: results from the KOSI-9 experiment.
Eberhard Grün,Jürgen Gebhard,Akiva Bar-Nun,Johannes Benkhoff,Helmi Düren,Günter Eich,Ralf Hische,Walter F. Huebner,H. U. Keller,Gabriele Klees,H. Kochan,Gabriele Kölzer,H. Kroker,Ekkehard Kührt,Peter Lämmerzahl,Eckehard Lorenz,Wojciech J. Markiewicz,Diedrich Möhlmann,Achim Oehler,Joachim Scholz,Klaus J. Seidensticker,Kurt Roessler,Gerhard Schwehm,Gerhard Steiner,K. Thiel,Hubertus M. Thomas +25 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the evolution of a dust mantle on top of a sublimating ice-dust mixture in vacuum was studied, and a dry dust mantle of a few millimeters thickness developed during the course of the experiment.
