Forest management affects saproxylic beetles through tree species composition and canopy cover
Pascal Edelmann,Didem Ambarlı,Martin M. Gossner,Peter Schall,Christian Ammer,Beate Wende,Ernst Detlef Schulze,Wolfgang W. Weisser,Sebastian Seibold +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors analyzed the effect of forest management on saproxylic beetles using an eight-year dataset collected from 379 experimental logs of 13 different tree species, which were exposed in forests of different management intensity in three regions of Germany.
Journal ArticleDOI
The role of wood harvest from sustainably managed forests in the carbon cycle
TL;DR: In this article , the flux balance of managed and protected forests and the effects of using wood were investigated and it was shown that the flux parameters of CO 2 uptake and respiration do not differ between the two types of forests.
