The Human Early-Life Exposome (HELIX): Project Rationale and Design
Martine Vrijheid,Rémy Slama,Oliver Robinson,Leda Chatzi,Muireann Coen,Peter van den Hazel,Cathrine Thomsen,John Wright,Toby J. Athersuch,Narcis Avellana,Xavier Basagaña,Céline Brochot,Luca Bucchini,Mariona Bustamante,Angel Carracedo,Maribel Casas,Xavier Estivill,Lesley Fairley,Diana van Gent,Juan R. González,Berit Granum,Regina Gražulevičienė,Kristine B. Gutzkow,Jordi Julvez,Hector C. Keun,Manolis Kogevinas,Rosemary R. C. McEachan,Helle Margrete Meltzer,Eduard Sabidó,Per E. Schwarze,Valérie Siroux,Jordi Sunyer,Elizabeth J. Want,Florence Anna Zeman,Mark J. Nieuwenhuijsen +34 more
TL;DR: HELIX is one of the first attempts to describe the early-life exposome of European populations and unravel its relation to omics markers and health in childhood, and will form an important first step toward the life-course exposomes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Variability of urinary concentrations of non-persistent chemicals in pregnant women and school-aged children.
Maribel Casas,Xavier Basagaña,Amrit Kaur Sakhi,Line Småstuen Haug,Claire Philippat,Berit Granum,Cyntia B. Manzano-Salgado,Céline Brochot,Florence Anna Zeman,Jeroen de Bont,Sandra Andrusaityte,Leda Chatzi,David Donaire-Gonzalez,Lise Giorgis-Allemand,Juan R. González,Esther Gracia-Lavedan,Regina Grazuleviciene,Mariza Kampouri,Sarah Lyon-Caen,Pau Pañella,Inga Petraviciene,Oliver Robinson,Jose Urquiza,Marina Vafeiadi,Céline Vernet,Dagmar Waiblinger,John Wright,Cathrine Thomsen,Rémy Slama,Martine Vrijheid +29 more
TL;DR: This quantification of the variability of biomarker measurements of many non-persistent chemicals during several time windows shows that for many of these compounds a few dozen samples are required to accurately assess exposure over periods encompassing several trimesters or months.
Journal ArticleDOI
Exposure assessment of phthalates in French pregnant women: results of the ELFE pilot study
Florence Anna Zeman,C. Boudet,Karine Tack,A. Floch Barneaud,Céline Brochot,Alexandre R.R. Pery,Amivi Oleko,Stéphanie Vandentorren +7 more
TL;DR: First assessment of the exposure of French pregnant women to phthalate esters is provided and a pharmacokinetic model was used in order to gain understanding on exposure to DEHP.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of waterborne uranium on survival, growth, reproduction and physiological processes of the freshwater cladoceran Daphnia magna
Florence Anna Zeman,Rodolphe Gilbin,Frédéric Alonzo,Catherine Lecomte-Pradines,Jacqueline Garnier-Laplace,Catherine Aliaume +5 more
TL;DR: The results confirmed the general assumption that uranium chemical toxicity predominates over its radiotoxicity and compared to the toxicity of other alpha-emitting radionuclides and stable trace metals.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparative potency approach based on H2AX assay for estimating the genotoxicity of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons
M. Audebert,Florence Anna Zeman,R. Beaudoin,Alexandre R.R. Pery,Jean Pierre Cravedi,Jean Pierre Cravedi +5 more
TL;DR: This study proposed a new in vitro based method for the establishment of relevant TEFs for PAHs to improve cancer risk assessment and developed new TEFs, which are named Genotoxic Equivalent Factor (GEF).
