TL;DR: In a phase I trial, highly individualized peptide vaccines against unmutated tumour antigens and neoepitopes elicited sustained responses in CD8+ and CD4+ T cells, respectively, in patients with newly diagnosed glioblastoma.

Cerebrospinal fluid-derived circulating tumour DNA better represents the genomic alterations of brain tumours than plasma

Berger,Javier Cortes,Javier Cortes,Jorge S. Reis-Filho,Joan Seoane,Joan Seoane,Joan Seoane +40 more
TL;DR: It is shown that ctDNA derived from central nervous system tumours is more abundantly present in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) than in plasma, allowing the identification of actionable brain tumour somatic mutations and facilitating and complement the diagnosis of leptomeningeal carcinomatosis.

TGF-β Receptor Inhibitors Target the CD44high/Id1high Glioma-Initiating Cell Population in Human Glioblastoma
Judit Anido,Andrea Sáez-Borderías,Alba Gonzalez-Junca,Laura Rodon,Gerard Folch,Maria Ángeles Carmona,Rosa M. Prieto-Sánchez,Ignasi Barba,Elena Martínez-Sáez,Ludmila Prudkin,Isabel Cuartas,C. TL;DR: A cell population enriched for GICs that expresses high levels of CD44 and Id1 and tend to be located in a perivascular niche is identified, which confer poor prognosis in GBM patients.

LIF regulates CXCL9 in tumor-associated macrophages and prevents CD8+ T cell tumor-infiltration impairing anti-PD1 therapy
Mónica Pascual-García,Ester Bonfill-Teixidor,Ester Planas-Rigol,Carlota Rubio-Perez,Raffaella Iurlaro,Alexandra Arias,Isabel Cuartas,Ada Sala-Hojman,Laura Escudero,Francisco Martínez-Ricarte,Isabel Huber-Ruano,Paolo Nuciforo,Leire Pedrosa,Carolina Marques,Irene Brana,Elena Garralda,Maria Vieito,Massimo Squatrito,Estela Pineda,Francesc Graus,Carmen Espejo,Carmen Espejo,Juan Sahuquillo,Juan Sahuquillo,Josep Tabernero,Josep Tabernero,Joan Seoane +26 more
TL;DR: It is shown that LIF assumes a crucial role in the regulation of CD8+ T cell tumor infiltration, while promoting the presence of protumoral tumor-associated macrophages, and that L IF inhibition, via neutralizing antibodies, promotes T cell infiltration and synergizes with immune checkpoint inhbitors resulting in tumor regression and immunological memory.
