Journal ArticleDOI

Shielding the cationic charge of nanoparticle-formulated dermal DNA vaccines is essential for antigen expression and immunogenicity.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that formulation of DNA into both liposomal and polymeric cationic nanoparticles completely blocks vaccination-induced antigen expression in mice and ex vivo human skin, suggesting that charge shielding forms a generally applicable strategy for the development of dermally applied vaccine formulations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Liposomes for scintigraphic detection of infection and inflammation.

TL;DR: A study in patients suspected of having infectious or inflammatory disease has been initiated and preliminary clinically results exemplify the potential of Tc-99m-PEG liposomes to image infection and inflammation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Pharmacokinetics of poly(hydroxyethyl-L-asparagine)-coated liposomes is superior over that of PEG-coated liposomes at low lipid dose and upon repeated administration

TL;DR: The use of PHEA-liposomes appears beneficial when single low lipid doses and/or repeated dosing schedules are being applied, and the mechanisms behind these observations are still not clear.
Journal ArticleDOI

In vitro cellular handling and in vivo targeting of E-selectin-directed immunoconjugates and immunoliposomes used for drug delivery to inflamed endothelium.

TL;DR: Study on therapeutic effects and side effects in models of chronic inflammation are now necessary to establish pharmacodynamics of dexa-AbEsel and/or AbEsel-immunoliposomes in the treatment of chronicinflammation.
