TL;DR: A common variant in the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor gene cluster on chromosome 15q24 with an effect on smoking quantity, ND and the risk of two smoking-related diseases in populations of European descent is identified.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: It is found that rs401681[C] on chromosome 5p15 satisfied the threshold for genome-wide significance and seems to confer protection against cutaneous melanoma, and investigation of the region led to rs2736098[A], which showed stronger association with some cancer types, but neither variant could fully account for the association of the other.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pulmonary neuroendocrine tumors: incidence and prognosis of histological subtypes. A population-based study in Denmark.
TL;DR: The findings support the pathological categorization of neuroendocrine tumors into three grades of malignancy and more research is needed to establish the etiological factors in the development of pulmonary neuro endocrine tumors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Conditional Survival of Patients With the Four Major Histologic Subgroups of Lung Cancer in Denmark
TL;DR: For patients who have survived more than 1 year, the conditional survival probability provides a more accurate estimate of survival as compared with the conventional observed survival rates.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: An association between gastric cancer in Europeans and three loci previously reported in Asians, MUC1, PRKAA1 and PSCA, is confirmed and a pathogenic role for the tandem repeat identified in M UC1 is supported.
