Removal of manganese from water using crushed dolomite filtration technique

TL;DR: In this paper, a laboratory scale filtration technique was used to remove manganese from bearing water to prove previous batch studies which showed that the removal of manganous was better in the case of limestone particle as compared to the gravel, crushed brick or with no media addition, and conclusion made that removal mechanisms were due to the effect of rough solid surfaces and the presence of carbonate in the limestone particle.
Journal ArticleDOI

Phytoremediation of domestic wastewaters in free water surface constructed wetlands using Azolla pinnata.

TL;DR: Results showed considerable reductions in all parameters and metals including Zn in CW1 compared with CW2 in the two seasons considered while Pb and Mn were not detected throughout the study.
Journal ArticleDOI

Removal of COD, ammoniacal nitrogen and colour from stabilized landfill leachate by anaerobic organism

TL;DR: In this paper, the treatment performance of anaerobic organisms for stabilized leachate under ambient air condition was investigated and the experimental results showed that the optimum vari- ables condition was established at pH 7.
Journal ArticleDOI

Semi-aerobic stabilized landfill leachate treatment by ion exchange resin: isotherm and kinetic study

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigate the treatability of ion exchange resin (Indion MB 6 SR) for the removal of chromium (VI), aluminium (III), zinc (II), copper (II, iron (II) and phosphate (PO4)3−, chemical oxygen demand (COD), ammonia nitrogen (NH3-N) and color from semi-aerobic stabilized leachate by batch test.
Journal ArticleDOI

Metals removal from municipal landfill leachate and wastewater using adsorbents combined with biological method

TL;DR: In this article, a study was conducted to study heavy metals elimination from urban wastewater and landfill leachate using an adsorbent, namely powdered ZELIAC (PZ) that improved Sequencing batch reactor (SBR) is a type of biological treatment.
