Journal ArticleDOI
Mapping human brain monoamine oxidase A and B with 11C-labeled suicide inactivators and PET.
Joanna S. Fowler,Robert R. MacGregor,Alfred P. Wolf,Carroll D. Arnett,Stephen L. Dewey,David J. Schlyer,David R. Christman,Jean Logan,Maynard E. Smith,H. Sachs,Sten-Magnus Aquilonius,Peter Bjurling,Christer Halldin,Per Hartvig,Klaus L. Leenders,Hans Lundqvist,Lars Oreland,C.-G. Stålnacke,Bengt Långström +18 more
TL;DR: Suicide enzyme inactivators labeled with positron emitters can be used to quantitate the distribution and kinetic characteristics of MAO in human brain structures and show rapid clearance of the inactive enantiomer and retention of the active enantiomers within MAO B-rich brain structures.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nerve growth factor affects 11C-nicotine binding, blood flow, EEG, and verbal episodic memory in an Alzheimer patient (case report).
Lars Olson,Agneta Nordberg,H. von Holst,Lars Bäckman,Ted Ebendal,Irina Alafuzoff,Kaarina Amberla,Per Hartvig,Agneta Herlitz,Anders Lilja,Hans Lundqvist,Bengt Långström,Björn A. Meyerson,Anders Persson,Matti Viitanen,Bengt Winblad,Åke Seiger +16 more
TL;DR: It is indicated that NGF may counteract cholinergic deficits in AD, and it is suggested that further clinical trials of NGF infusion in AD are warranted.
Journal ArticleDOI
Radionuclide Therapy of HER2-Positive Microxenografts Using a 177Lu-Labeled HER2-Specific Affibody Molecule
Vladimir Tolmachev,Anna Orlova,Rikard Pehrson,Joakim Galli,Barbro Baastrup,Karl Andersson,Mattias Sandström,Daniel Rosik,Jörgen Carlsson,Hans Lundqvist,Anders Wennborg,Fredrik Nilsson +11 more
TL;DR: It is reported that reversible binding to albumin efficiently reduces the renal excretion and uptake, enabling radiometal-based nuclide therapy and improving the in vivo biodistribution.
Journal ArticleDOI
HER2 expression in breast cancer primary tumours and corresponding metastases. Original data and literature review.
Jörgen Carlsson,Hans Nordgren,Johanna Sjöström,Kenneth Wester,K. Villman,Nils-Olof Bengtsson,Bjørn Østenstad,Hans Lundqvist,Carl Blomqvist +8 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that breast cancer lymph node metastases generally overexpress HER2 to the same extent as the corresponding primary tumours, and this also seems to be the case when distant metastases are considered.
Journal ArticleDOI
Discrepancies in brain tumor extent as shown by computed tomography and positron emission tomography using [68Ga]EDTA, [11C]glucose, and [11C]methionine.
Mats Bergström,V. Peter Collins,E. Ehrin,Kaj Ericson,Lars Eriksson,Torgny Greitz,Christer Halldin,Hans von Hoist,Bengt Långström,Anders Lilja,Hans Lundqvist,Kjell Någren +11 more
TL;DR: A patient with an anaplastic (malignant) astrocytoma was examined with computed tomography and with positron emission tomography, in the latter case using [68Ga]EDTA, [11C]glucose, and [ 11C]methionine, and a histologic evaluation of thin sections obtained at autopsy showed excellent agreement between tumor extent and activity distribution after the latter.
