Bright Unidirectional Fluorescence Emission of Molecules in a Nanoaperture with Plasmonic Corrugations
H. Aouani,Oussama Mahboub,Nicolas Bonod,Eloïse Devaux,Evgeny Popov,Hervé Rigneault,Thomas W. Ebbesen,Jérôrne Wenger +7 more
TL;DR: It is reported that gold nanoapertures surrounded by periodic corrugations transform standard fluorescent molecules into bright unidirectional sources and the increased light-matter coupling as well as the radiation pattern intensity is quantified.
Journal ArticleDOI
A plasmonic /`antenna-in-box/' platform for enhanced single-molecule analysis at micromolar concentrations
Deep Punj,Mathieu Mivelle,Satish Babu Moparthi,Thomas S. van Zanten,Hervé Rigneault,Niek F. van Hulst,Maria F. Garcia-Parajo,Jérôme Wenger +7 more
TL;DR: A novel 'antenna-in-box' platform that is based on a gap-antenna inside a nanoaperture that combines fluorescent signal enhancement and background screening, offering high single-molecule sensitivity at micromolar sample concentrations and zeptolitre-range detection volumes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Raft nanodomains contribute to Akt/PKB plasma membrane recruitment and activation
Rémi Lasserre,Xiao-Jun Guo,Fabien Conchonaud,Fabien Conchonaud,Yannick Hamon,Yannick Hamon,Omar Hawchar,Omar Hawchar,Anne-Marie Bernard,Anne-Marie Bernard,Saïdi M. Soudja,Saïdi M. Soudja,Pierre-François Lenne,Pierre-François Lenne,Hervé Rigneault,Hervé Rigneault,Daniel Olive,Georges Bismuth,Georges Bismuth,Jacques A. Nunès,Bernard Payrastre,Bernard Payrastre,Didier Marguet,Didier Marguet,Hai-Tao He,Hai-Tao He +25 more
TL;DR: It is reported here that highly dynamic nanodomains exist in both the outer and inner leaflets of the plasma membrane and it is demonstrated that rafts are critically involved in the activation of a signaling axis that is essential for cell physiology.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dynamics in the plasma membrane: how to combine fluidity and order
Didier Marguet,Didier Marguet,Pierre-François Lenne,Pierre-François Lenne,Hervé Rigneault,Hervé Rigneault,Hai-Tao He,Hai-Tao He +7 more
TL;DR: The basic concepts of Brownian diffusion and lipid domain formation in model membranes are summarized and the development of ideas and tools in this field are tracked, outlining key results obtained on the dynamic processes at work in membrane structure and assembly.
Journal ArticleDOI
Super-Heating and Micro-Bubble Generation around Plasmonic Nanoparticles under cw Illumination
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors provide a comprehensive description of the generation of microbubbles in a liquid occurring around plasmonic nanoparticles under continuous illumination, and demonstrate that superheated liquid water, up to 220 °C, is easy to achieve in Plasmonics, under ambient pressure conditions and even over arbitrary large areas.
