Journal ArticleDOI
Genetic mapping of a susceptibility locus for insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus on chromosome 11q.
L. Hashimoto,L. Hashimoto,C. Habita,C. Habita,J. P. Beressi,M. Delepine,M. Delepine,C. Basse,Anne Cambon-Thomsen,I. Deschamps,Jerome I. Rotter,S. Djoulah,M. R. James,M. R. James,Philippe Froguel,Philippe Froguel,Jean Weissenbach,G. M. Lathrop,G. M. Lathrop,Cécile Julier,Cécile Julier +20 more
TL;DR: Evidence is reported for the localization of a previously undetected suscept-ibility locus for IDDM in the region of the FGF3 gene on chromo-some llq, showing the potential of genome-wide linkage studies to detect susceptibility loci in IDDM and other multifactor-ial disorders.
Journal ArticleDOI
The HLA-DRB1*0405 haplotype is most strongly associated with IDDM in Algerians.
S. Djoulah,I. Khalil,J. P. Beressi,Soraya Benhamamouch,K. Bessaoud,I. Deschamps,Laurent Degos,Jacques Hors +7 more
TL;DR: The use of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and sequence specific oligonucleotide analysis (SSO) to identify DQA1, DQB1, and DRB1 alleles, haplotypes and genotypes in Algerian patients suggest that theDRB1*0405 allele which encodes an Asp57‐negative β chain may contribute to IDDM susceptibility in a similar way as Asp 57‐negative DQβ chains.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: In this article , the authors developed a Master Protocol, based on the "backbone" of the INNODIA natural history study, which could improve the delivery of phase 2 studies exploring the use of single or combinations of Investigational Medicinal Products (IMPs), designed to prevent or reverse declines in beta-cell function in individuals with newly diagnosed type 1 diabetes.
