Journal ArticleDOI

Electrically tunable photoluminescence of liquid crystalline polyacetylene solutions

TL;DR: In this article, the photoluminescence of tetrahydrofuran solutions of a liquid crystalline polyacetylene, poly(11-{[(4′-heptoxy-4-biphenylyl)carbonyl]oxy}-1-undecyne, is investigated in the electrical field.
Journal ArticleDOI

Origin of the blue emissions of polyacetylenes bearing carbazole side groups

TL;DR: In this paper, the optical properties and electronic structures of one mono-substituted polyacetylene and two di-sub-substantinized polyacetylenes have been investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sheetlike Side-Chain Liquid Crystalline Polyacetylenes Forming Monolayer Lamellae in Dilute Solutions

TL;DR: In this article, the self-assembly behaviors of a series of hydrophobic side-chain polyacetylenes were studied in dilute solutions, and the assembly was induced by tuning the solvent property to be selective for the alkyl tails on the side chains.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis, properties, and applications of poly(ethylene glycol)-decorated tetraphenylethenes

TL;DR: Non-charged, water soluble poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG)-decorated teraphenylethenes (TPEs) with different polymer chain numbers are synthesized in high yields by azide–alkyne cycloaddition by means of fluorescence spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), zeta potential and dynamic mechanical analyses.
Journal ArticleDOI

Electric-field-induced molecular alignment of side-chain liquid-crystalline polyacetylenes containing biphenyl mesogens

TL;DR: In this paper, electric field-induced molecular alignments of polyacetylenes were studied with X-ray diffraction and polarized optical microscopy and an orientation as high as 084 was obtained for PA9EO7.
