Journal ArticleDOI
The unusual aggregation-induced emission of coplanar organoboron isomers and their lipid droplet-specific applications
Jen-Shyang Ni,Haixiang Liu,Junkai Liu,Junkai Liu,Meijuan Jiang,Zheng Zhao,Yuncong Chen,Ryan T. K. Kwok,Jacky Wing Yip Lam,Qian Peng,Ben Zhong Tang,Ben Zhong Tang +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper, new organoboron derivatives with coplanar structures were synthesized and found to be AIE-active by photoluminescence spectroscopy, single crystal X-ray diffraction and theoretical calculations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ferrocene-Functionalized Hyperbranched Polyphenylenes: Synthesis, Redox Activity, Light Refraction, Transition-Metal Complexation, and Precursors to Magnetic Ceramics
Jianbing Shi,Cathy Ka Wai Jim,Faisal Mahtab,Jianzhao Liu,Jacky Wing Yip Lam,Herman H. Y. Sung,Ian D. Williams,Yuping Dong,Ben Zhong Tang,Ben Zhong Tang +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, E-1]-2,5-Diethynylphenylvinyl]ferrocene (1), a ferrocene-containing diyne, was polymerized by ruthenium-and rhodium-based catalysts, affording hyperbranched polyphenylenes with high molecular weights (Mw up to ∼ 1.4 × 105) in high yields (up to 100%).
Journal ArticleDOI
A Substitution-Dependent Light-Up Fluorescence Probe for Selectively Detecting Fe3+ Ions and Its Cell Imaging Application
Xing Feng,Xing Feng,Ying Li,Xuewen He,Haixiang Liu,Zheng Zhao,Ryan T. K. Kwok,Mark R. J. Elsegood,Jacky Wing Yip Lam,Ben Zhong Tang,Ben Zhong Tang +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an aggregation-induced emission featured iron (III) probe from ortho-substituted pyridinyl-functionalized tetraphenylethylene (TPE-o-Py) was synthesized.
Journal ArticleDOI
A multifunctional luminogen with aggregation-induced emission characteristics for selective imaging and photodynamic killing of both cancer cells and Gram-positive bacteria
Miaomiao Kang,Miaomiao Kang,Ryan T. K. Kwok,Ryan T. K. Kwok,Jianguo Wang,Han Zhang,Jacky Wing Yip Lam,Jacky Wing Yip Lam,Ying Li,Pengfei Zhang,Hang Zou,Xinggui Gu,Xinggui Gu,Feng Li,Ben Zhong Tang,Ben Zhong Tang +15 more
TL;DR: This work reports an aggregation-induced emission (AIE) luminogen, namely TPPCN, with intense emission and efficient reactive oxygen species production for fluorescence imaging and killing cancer cells and Gram-positive bacteria.
Journal ArticleDOI
Conjugated Hyperbranched Poly(aryleneethynylene)s: Synthesis, Photophysical Properties, Superquenching by Explosive, Photopatternability, and Tunable High Refractive Indices
Wang Zhang Yuan,Wang Zhang Yuan,Rongrong Hu,Jacky Wing Yip Lam,Ni Xie,Cathy Ka Wai Jim,Ben Zhong Tang +6 more
TL;DR: All of the polymers possessed good film formability, and UV irradiation of the thin films induced simultaneous photobleaching and cross-linking, thus making them applicable in the fabrication of 2D and 3D patterns.
