Specific Two-Photon Imaging of Live Cellular and Deep-Tissue Lipid Droplets by Lipophilic AIEgens at Ultralow Concentration
Guangle Niu,Ruoyao Zhang,Ruoyao Zhang,John P. C. Kwong,Jacky Wing Yip Lam,Congping Chen,Jianguo Wang,Yuncong Chen,Xing Feng,Ryan T. K. Kwok,Herman H. Y. Sung,Ian D. Williams,Mark R. J. Elsegood,Jianan Y. Qu,Chao Ma,Kam Sing Wong,Xiaoqiang Yu,Ben Zhong Tang,Ben Zhong Tang +18 more
TL;DR: Four new aggregation-induced emission luminogens (AIEgens) based on the naphthalene core were designed and synthesized for specific two-photon lipid droplet staining and could specifically stain lipid droplets at ultralow concentration (50 nM) in a short time of 15 min.
Journal ArticleDOI
Non-conventional fluorescent biogenic and synthetic polymers without aromatic rings
Ruquan Ye,Ruquan Ye,Yuanyue Liu,Haoke Zhang,Huifang Su,Huifang Su,Yilin Zhang,Liguo Xu,Rongrong Hu,Ryan T. K. Kwok,Kam Sing Wong,Jacky Wing Yip Lam,William A. Goddard,Ben Zhong Tang,Ben Zhong Tang +14 more
TL;DR: The origin of fluorescence is deciphered by studying the photophysical properties of a series of non-aromatic biogenic and synthetic peptides by suggesting that the turn-on fluorescence in the aggregation state/condensed phase is associated with the communication of amide groups.
Journal ArticleDOI
Stimuli-Responsive AIEgens
TL;DR: In this article, the recent achievements of stimuli-responsive AIEgens in terms of seven most representative types of stimuli including force, light, polarity, temperature, electricity, ion, and pH are summarized.
Journal ArticleDOI
Molecular luminogens based on restriction of intramolecular motions through host–guest inclusion for cell imaging
Guodong Liang,Guodong Liang,Jacky Wing Yip Lam,Wei Qin,Jie Li,Ni Xie,Ben Zhong Tang,Ben Zhong Tang +7 more
TL;DR: A new strategy to restrict the motions of AIE molecules through host-guest inclusion, affording a catalogue of new molecular luminogens, is developed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Real-Time Monitoring of Hierarchical Self-Assembly and Induction of Circularly Polarized Luminescence from Achiral Luminogens.
Jing Zhang,Qiuming Liu,Qiuming Liu,Wenjie Wu,Junhui Peng,Haoke Zhang,Fengyan Song,Benzhao He,Xiaoyan Wang,Herman H. Y. Sung,Ming Chen,Bing Shi Li,Sheng Hua Liu,Jacky Wing Yip Lam,Ben Zhong Tang,Ben Zhong Tang +15 more
TL;DR: The two enantiomers of chiral Au(I) complexes ( S)-1 and ( R)-1 were synthesized, and they exhibited impressive spontaneous hierarchical self-assembly transitions from vesicles to helical fibers.
