Design of multi-functional AIEgens: tunable emission, circularly polarized luminescence and self-assembly by dark through-bond energy transfer
Hai-Tao Feng,Xinggui Gu,Xinggui Gu,Jacky Wing Yip Lam,Yan-Song Zheng,Ben Zhong Tang,Ben Zhong Tang +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, a pair of chiral R/S-TPE-BINOL derivatives with dark resonance energy transfer was facilely synthesized by coupling of a tetraphenylethylene (TPE) derivative, BODIPY dye and BINOL, where TPE not only was selected as a dark energy donor, but also can endow the target molecules with aggregation-induced emission (AIE) characteristics.
Journal ArticleDOI
Multicomponent Click Polymerization: A Facile Strategy toward Fused Heterocyclic Polymers
Haiqin Deng,Ting Han,Engui Zhao,Ryan T. K. Kwok,Jacky Wing Yip Lam,Ben Zhong Tang,Ben Zhong Tang +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, a facile and efficient multicomponent click polymerization route to construct fused heterocyclic polymers with advanced functionalities was reported, and the resulting polymers possess outstanding film-forming ability, high thermal stability and good morphological stability.
Journal ArticleDOI
Water-soluble bioprobes with aggregation-induced emission characteristics for light-up sensing of heparin
Ryan T. K. Kwok,Junlong Geng,Jacky Wing Yip Lam,Engui Zhao,Guan Wang,Ruoyu Zhan,Bin Liu,Ben Zhong Tang,Ben Zhong Tang +8 more
TL;DR: A comprehensive study on heparin detection using the two probes was conducted, which revealed that the AIE probe shows a better performance than the aggregation-caused quenching (ACQ) probe in terms of sensitivity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hyperbranched Poly(silylenephenylenes) from Polycyclotrimerization of A2-Type Diyne Monomers: Synthesis, Characterization, Structural Modeling, Thermal Stability, and Fluorescent Patterning
Jianzhao Liu,Ronghua Zheng,Youhong Tang,Matthias Häussler,Jacky Wing Yip Lam,Anjun Qin,Mingxin Ye,Yuning Hong,Ping Gao,Ben Zhong Tang +9 more
TL;DR: A group of hyperbranched poly(silylenephenylenes) (hb-PSPs) were synthesized in high yields (up to 100%) by TaBr5-catalyzed polycyclotrimerization of A2-type monomers of silylenediynes as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis and optical properties of polyacetylenes containing nonlinear optical chromophores
Shouchun Yin,Shouchun Yin,Hongyao Xu,Wenfang Shi,Yachen Gao,Yinlin Song,Jacky Wing Yip Lam,Ben Zhong Tang +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, high molecular weight polyacetylenes bearing nonlinear chromophoric pendants poly[4-ethynyl-4′-(N,N-diethylamino)azobenzene-co-phenylacetylene]s were synthesized in moderate yields by [Rh(nbd)Cl]2-Et3N.
