EDGE2D comparisons of JET tungsten and carbon screening

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of bundling groups of contiguous carbon and tungsten ionization stages on the calculated impurity screening was investigated and it was shown that the bundling effect on the carbon or Tungsten screening or fuelling efficiency was weakly dependent upon the actual bundling scheme used.
Journal ArticleDOI

Experimental verification of relativistic finite temperature polarimetry effects at JET

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of high electron temperature on plasma polarimetry has been studied theoretically with specific relevance to its use as a tokamak plasma diagnostic, but neither has been verified experimentally.
Journal ArticleDOI

A fast, magnetics-free flux surface estimation and q-profile reconstruction algorithm for feedback control of plasma profiles

TL;DR: In this article, a fast, non-iterative and magnetics-free numerical method is proposed to estimate the shape of the flux surfaces by an inward propagation of the plasma boundary shape, as can be determined for example by optical boundary reconstruction described in Hommen (2010 Rev. Instrum.
Journal ArticleDOI

JET scrape-off-layer ionization at lower hybrid wave launching

TL;DR: In this article, the EDGE2D-NIMBUS was modified in order to account for possible enhanced ionization in the scrape-off layer (SOL) due to the LH power absorbed by the electrons in a layer extending in the radial direction from the launcher.
Journal ArticleDOI

Fast ion redistribution and losses in JET advanced tokamak scenario

TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of AEs (core-localized toroidal Alfven eigenmode (TAE) and high-m global TAE) on redistribution and loss of fast ions in the advanced tokamak scenario has been investigated in JET dedicated experiments.
