Magnetic energy flows during the current quench and termination of disruptions with runaway current plateau formation in JET and implications for ITER

TL;DR: In this article, the magnetic energy balance and magnetic energy flows for plasma disruptions in which runaway plateau plasmas are formed and terminated at JET has been analyzed and compared with that of runaway-free disruptions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ion temperature profile stiffness: non-linear gyrokinetic simulations and comparison with experiment

TL;DR: In this article, an extensive set of nonlinear gyrokinetic simulations are performed based on the experimental discharges, investigating the physical mechanism behind the observations, and the impact on the ion heat flux of various parameters that differ within the data-set are explored.
Journal ArticleDOI

Scaling of density peaking in JET H-modes and implications for ITER

TL;DR: In this paper, an extensive profile database analysis of JET density profiles in H-mode is presented, showing that the density peaking factor n(e0)/ in JET H-modes increases as the effective collisionality v(eff) congruent to 10(-14) RZ(eff)/T-e(2) drops from similar to 1 at mid-radius to below 1 as expected for ITER.
