Commensurate-incommensurate transition in graphene on hexagonal boron nitride
Colin R. Woods,L. Britnell,Axel Eckmann,Ruisong Ma,Jianchen Lu,Haiming Guo,Xiao Lin,Geliang Yu,Yang Cao,Roman V. Gorbachev,Andrey V. Kretinin,Jaesung Park,Jaesung Park,Leonid Ponomarenko,Mikhail I. Katsnelson,Yu. N. Gornostyrev,Kenji Watanabe,Takashi Taniguchi,Cinzia Casiraghi,Hong-Jun Gao,Andre K. Geim,Konstantin S. Novoselov +21 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors reported a commensurate-incommensurate transition for graphene on top of hexagonal boron nitride (hBN), where areas with matching lattice constants are separated by domain walls that accumulate the generated strain.
Journal ArticleDOI
Epitaxial Growth of Honeycomb Monolayer CuSe with Dirac Nodal Line Fermions.
Lei Gao,Jia-Tao Sun,Jianchen Lu,Hang Li,Kai Qian,Shuai Zhang,Yu-Yang Zhang,Tian Qian,Hong Ding,Xiao Lin,Shixuan Du,Hong-Jun Gao +11 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that the honeycomb monolayer transition metal monochalcogenide can be a new platform to study 2D DNLFs, and good agreement of angle resolved photoemission spectra with the calculated band structures of CuSe/Cu(111) demonstrates that the sample is monolayers CuSe with a honeycomb lattice.
Journal ArticleDOI
Intrinsically patterned two-dimensional materials for selective adsorption of molecules and nanoclusters
Xiao Lin,Jianchen Lu,Yan Shao,Y. Y. Zhang,Y. Y. Zhang,Xu Wu,Jinbo Pan,Libo Gao,Shiyu Zhu,K. Qian,Yinlong Zhang,De-Liang Bao,Libo Li,Yiming Wang,Zhong-Liu Liu,Jia-Tao Sun,T. Lei,Chen Liu,Jiaou Wang,Kurash Ibrahim,Donovan N. Leonard,Wu Zhou,Wu Zhou,Haiming Guo,Yeliang Wang,Shixuan Du,Sokrates T. Pantelides,Sokrates T. Pantelides,Hong-Jun Gao +28 more
TL;DR: In this article, the growth of a family of 2D materials that are intrinsically patterned is demonstrated, where a monolayer of PtSe2 can be grown on a Pt substrate in the form of a triangular pattern of alternating 1T and 1H phases.

Intrinsically patterned two-dimensional materials for selective adsorption of molecules and nanoclusters
Xiao Lin,Jianchen Lu,Yan Shao,Y. Y. Zhang,Y. Y. Zhang,Xu Wu,Jinbo Pan,Libo Gao,Shiyu Zhu,K. Qian,Yinlong Zhang,De-Liang Bao,Libo Li,Yiming Wang,Zhong-Liu Liu,Jia-Tao Sun,T. Lei,Chen Liu,Jiaou Wang,Kurash Ibrahim,Donovan N. Leonard,Wu Zhou,Wu Zhou,Haiming Guo,Yeliang Wang,Shixuan Du,Sokrates T. Pantelides,Sokrates T. Pantelides,Hong-Jun Gao +28 more
TL;DR: In this article, the growth of a family of 2D materials that are intrinsically patterned is demonstrated, which can serve as templates for selective self-assembly of molecules or nanoclusters, as well as for the functionalization of the same substrate with two different species.
Journal ArticleDOI
Direct visualization of atomically precise nitrogen-doped graphene nanoribbons
Yi Zhang,Yan-Fang Zhang,Geng Li,Jianchen Lu,Xiao Lin,Shixuan Du,Reinhard Berger,Xinliang Feng,Klaus Müllen,Hong-Jun Gao +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a nitrogen-doped chevron-type graphene nanoribbons were fabricated by using the on-surface synthesis technique combined with the nitrogen substitution of the precursors.
