TL;DR: This is the first study to show that significant progressive dopaminergic loss occurs in DLB and PDD using serial 123I-FP-CIT SPECT imaging, suggesting that dopamergic loss may play an important role in cognitive as well as motor features.

Atrophy is associated with posterior cingulate white matter disruption in dementia with Lewy bodies and Alzheimer's disease.

TL;DR: Dementia disease progression as measured by global atrophy is associated with disruption of the white matter which connects posterior cingulate and lateral parietal regions, suggesting that in addition to the hypometabolism in these regions in AD and DLB, there is also disruption to thewhite matter connecting them.
