Journal ArticleDOI
Molecular classification of low-grade diffuse gliomas.
Young-Ho Kim,Sumihito Nobusawa,Sumihito Nobusawa,Michel Mittelbronn,Werner Paulus,Benjamin Brokinkel,Kathy Keyvani,Ulrich Sure,Karsten H. Wrede,Yoichi Nakazato,Yuko Tanaka,Anne Vital,Luigi Mariani,Robert Stawski,Takuya Watanabe,Umberto De Girolami,Umberto De Girolami,Paul Kleihues,Hiroko Ohgaki +18 more
TL;DR: The molecular classification on the basis of IDH1/2 mutation, TP53 mutation, and 1p/19q loss has power similar to histological classification and avoids the ambiguity inherent to the diagnosis of oligoastrocytoma.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prevalence and distribution of VZV in temporal arteries of patients with giant cell arteritis
Donald H. Gilden,Teresa White,Nelly Khmeleva,Anna Heintzman,Alexander Choe,Philip J. Boyer,Charles Grose,John E. Carpenter,April Rempel,Nathan Bos,Balasubramaniyam Kandasamy,Kelly C. Lear-Kaul,Dawn B. Holmes,Jeffrey Bennett,Randall J. Cohrs,Ravi Mahalingam,Naresh Mandava,Charles G. Eberhart,Brian Bockelman,Brian Bockelman,Robert J. Poppiti,Robert J. Poppiti,Robert J. Durairaj,Steve Rasmussen,Vigdis Petursdottir,Lea Pollak,Sonia Mendlovic,Denis Chatelain,Kathy Keyvani,Wolfgang Brueck,Maria A. Nagel +36 more
TL;DR: Most GCA-positive TAs contained VZV in skip areas that correlated with adjacent GCA pathology, supporting the hypothesis that VZv triggers GCA immunopathology.
Journal ArticleDOI
Environmental enrichment enhances cellular plasticity in transgenic mice with Alzheimer-like pathology
Arne Herring,Oliver Ambrée,Manuel Tomm,Henrik Habermann,Norbert Sachser,Werner Paulus,Kathy Keyvani +6 more
TL;DR: It is shown that cognitive and physical stimulation is capable of increasing the number of newborn mature hippocampal neurons in transgenic mice to wild type levels, probably enhancing the brain capacity to better compensate for neurodegeneration.
Journal ArticleDOI
Naturally Occurring Autoantibodies against β-Amyloid: Investigating Their Role in Transgenic Animal and In Vitro Models of Alzheimer's Disease
Richard Dodel,Karthikeyan Balakrishnan,Kathy Keyvani,Oliver Deuster,Frauke Neff,Luminita Cornelia Andrei-Selmer,Stephan Röskam,Carsten Stüer,Yousef Al-Abed,Carmen Noelker,Monika Balzer-Geldsetzer,Wolfgang H. Oertel,Yansheng Du,Michael Bacher +13 more
TL;DR: A novel physiological mechanism involving NAbs–Aβ to dispose of proteins or peptides that are prone to forming toxic aggregates is suggested.
Journal ArticleDOI
Poorly differentiated chordoma with SMARCB1/INI1 loss: a distinct molecular entity with dismal prognosis.
