Journal ArticleDOI
Elimination of Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) disease from The Gambia after the introduction of routine immunisation with a Hib conjugate vaccine: a prospective study
Richard A. Adegbola,Ousman Secka,George Lahai,Nellie Lloyd-Evans,Alpha Njie,Stanley Usen,Claire Oluwalana,Stephen K Obaro,Martin W. Weber,Tumani Corrah,Kim Mulholland,Keith P. W. J. McAdam,Brian Greenwood,Paul Milligan +13 more
TL;DR: The Gambian Hib immunisation programme reduced the occurrence of Hib disease despite irregular vaccine supply, and has important implications for the introduction of the vaccine into routine immunisation programmes of other developing countries.
Journal ArticleDOI
MeNZB: a safe and highly immunogenic tailor-made vaccine against the New Zealand Neisseria meningitidis serogroup B disease epidemic strain.
TL;DR: It is suggested that MeNZB is safe and is likely to confer protection against systemic group B meningococcal disease caused by the epidemic strain.
Journal ArticleDOI
Incidences of vaccine-preventable Haemophilus influenzae type b pneumonia and meningitis in Indonesian children: hamlet-randomised vaccine-probe trial.
Bradford D. Gessner,Agustinus Sutanto,Mary Linehan,I Gusti Gede Djelantik,Tracy Fletcher,I Komang Gerudug,Ingerani,David Mercer,Vanda Moniaga,Lawrence H. Moulton,Kim Mulholland,Carib Nelson,Soewignjo Soemohardjo,Mark C. Steinhoff,Anton Widjaya,Philippe Stoeckel,James E. Maynard,Soemarjati Arjoso +17 more
TL;DR: Hib vaccine did not prevent the great majority of pneumonia cases, including those with alveolar consolidation, and these results do not support a major role for Hib vaccine in overall pneumonia-prevention programmes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Immune responses to SARS-CoV-2 in three children of parents with symptomatic COVID-19.

Chung,Katherine Kedzierska,David Burgner,David Burgner,Nigel W Crawford,Nigel W Crawford +38 more
TL;DR: Clinical features, virology, longitudinal cellular, and cytokine immune profile, SARS-CoV-2-specific serology and salivary antibody responses in a family of two parents with PCR-confirmed symptomatic SATS coronavirus 2 infection and their three children and the data indicate that children can mount an immune response to SATS without virological confirmation of infection.
Journal ArticleDOI
Innate cell profiles during the acute and convalescent phase of SARS-CoV-2 infection in children.
Melanie R Neeland,Samantha Bannister,Samantha Bannister,Vanessa Clifford,Vanessa Clifford,Kate Dohle,Kim Mulholland,Philip Sutton,Nigel Curtis,Nigel Curtis,Andrew C Steer,Andrew C Steer,David Burgner,David Burgner,Nigel W Crawford,Nigel W Crawford,Shidan Tosif,Shidan Tosif,Richard Saffery +18 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors report acute and convalescent innate immune responses in 48 children and 70 adults infected with, or exposed to, SARS-CoV-2.
