Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of age and radiation dose on local control after breast conserving treatment: EORTC trial 22881-10882.
Ninja Antonini,H. Jones,Jean Claude Horiot,Philip Poortmans,Henk Struikmans,Walter Van den Bogaert,Isabelle Barillot,Alain Fourquet,Jos J. Jager,W.J. Hoogenraad,Laurence Collette,Marianne Pierart,Guus Hart,Harry Bartelink +13 more
TL;DR: In younger patients a boost dose resulted in a greater absolute reduction of local failure, however in younger patients the 5-year local failure was higher, therefore the absolute reduction was greater.
Journal ArticleDOI
The influence of the boost in breast-conserving therapy on cosmetic outcome in the EORTC boost versus no boost trial
Conny Vrieling,Laurence Collette,Alain Fourquet,W.J. Hoogenraad,Jean-Claude Horiot,Jos J. Jager,Marianne Pierart,Philip Poortmans,Henk Struikmans,Marleen Van der Hulst,Emmanuel van der Schueren,Harry Bartelink +11 more
TL;DR: Results showed that a boost dose of 16 Gy had a negative, but limited, impact on the cosmetic outcome after 3 years of follow-up in patients treated with breast-conserving therapy (BCT).
Journal ArticleDOI
Analysing data from patient-reported outcome and quality of life endpoints for cancer clinical trials: a start in setting international standards
Andrew Bottomley,Madeline Pe,Jeff A. Sloan,Ethan Basch,Franck Bonnetain,Melanie Calvert,Alicyn Campbell,Charles S. Cleeland,Kim Cocks,Laurence Collette,Amylou C. Dueck,Nancy Devlin,Hans-Henning Flechtner,Carolyn C. Gotay,Eva Greimel,Ingolf Griebsch,Mogens Groenvold,Jean-François Hamel,Madeleine King,Paul G. Kluetz,Michael Koller,Daniel C. Reijneveld,Christoph Schürmann,Ashley Wilder Smith,Katherine M. Soltys,Martin J B Taphoorn,Galina Velikova,Corneel Coens +38 more
TL;DR: The Setting International Standards in Analyzing Patient-Reported Outcomes and Quality of Life Endpoints Data (SISAQOL) initiative has been established and the reasons why this project was initiated and the rationale for the planned work are discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI
International standards for the analysis of quality-of-life and patient-reported outcome endpoints in cancer randomised controlled trials: recommendations of the SISAQOL Consortium.
Corneel Coens,Madeline Pe,Amylou C. Dueck,Jeff A. Sloan,Ethan Basch,Melanie Calvert,Alicyn Campbell,Charles S. Cleeland,Kim Cocks,Laurence Collette,Nancy Devlin,Lien Dorme,Hans-Henning Flechtner,Carolyn C. Gotay,Ingolf Griebsch,Mogens Groenvold,Madeleine King,Paul G. Kluetz,Michael Koller,Daniel C. Reijneveld,Christoph Schürmann,Ashley Wilder Smith,Katherine M. Soltys,Martin J B Taphoorn,Galina Velikova,Andrew Bottomley +34 more
TL;DR: This Policy Review presents recommendations for PRO analysis developed through critical literature reviews and a structured collaborative process with diverse international stakeholders, which provides a foundation for endorsement.
Journal ArticleDOI
The influence of the boost technique on local control in breast conserving treatment in the EORTC 'boost versus no boost' randomised trial.
Philip Poortmans,Harry Bartelink,Jean-Claude Horiot,Henk Struikmans,Walter Van den Bogaert,Alain Fourquet,Jos J. Jager,W.J. Hoogenraad,P. Rodrigus,C.C. Wárlám-Rodenhuis,Laurence Collette,Marianne Pierart +11 more
TL;DR: Although the three groups are of a rather unequal size, the results of the interstitial boost seem similar in terms of fibrosis and at least as good in Terms of local control, despite a lower treatment volume and a longer overall treatment time.
