On-Demand Preexposure Prophylaxis in Men at High Risk for HIV-1 Infection
Abstr Act,C. Capitant,Bruno Spire,Gilles Pialoux,Laurent Cotte,Isabelle Charreau,Cécile Tremblay,Eric Cua,Armelle Pasquet,François Raffi,Claire Pintado,Christian Chidiac,Julie Chas,P. Charbonneau,Constance Delaugerre,Marie Suzan-Monti,B. Loze,Gilles Peytavin,A Cheret,Julie Timsit,Gabriel Girard,Nicolas Lorente,Marie Préau,David Thompson,W. Rozenbaum,Véronique Doré,L. Marchand,C. Simon,N. Etien,Laurence Meyer +29 more
TL;DR: The use of TDF-FTC before and after sexual activity provided protection against HIV-1 infection in men who have sex with men, and the treatment was associated with increased rates of gastrointestinal and renal adverse events.
Journal ArticleDOI
Increased risk of myocardial infarction with duration of protease inhibitor therapy in HIV-infected men.
TL;DR: The results point to a duration-related effect relationship between PI and MI, with a higher MI incidence rate among men exposed to PI for 18 months or more.
Journal ArticleDOI
Depletion of circulating natural type 1 interferon-producing cells in HIV-infected AIDS patients.
Vassili Soumelis,Iain Scott,Ferdous Gheyas,Damien Bouhour,Gregoire Cozon,Laurent Cotte,Laurence Huang,Jay A. Levy,Yong-Jun Liu +8 more
TL;DR: This study provides the first evidence that IPCs are being affected during the course of HIV infection and suggests that these cells can play a vital role in the protection against opportunistic pathogens and cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Efficacy, safety, and effect on sexual behaviour of on-demand pre-exposure prophylaxis for HIV in men who have sex with men: an observational cohort study
Jean-Michel Molina,Jean-Michel Molina,Isabelle Charreau,Bruno Spire,Laurent Cotte,Julie Chas,Catherine Capitant,Cécile Tremblay,Daniela Rojas-Castro,Eric Cua,Armelle Pasquet,Camille Bernaud,Claire Pintado,Constance Delaugerre,Constance Delaugerre,Luis Sagaon-Teyssier,Soizic Le Mestre,Christian Chidiac,Gilles Pialoux,Diane Ponscarme,Julien Fonsart,David Thompson,Mark A. TL;DR: On-demand oral PrEP is highly effective at preventing HIV infection among high-risk men who have sex with men and therefore represents an alternative to daily PrEP, expanding choices for HIV prevention.
Journal ArticleDOI
Impact of Individual Antiretroviral Drugs on the Risk of Myocardial Infarction in Human Immunodeficiency Virus-Infected Patients A Case-Control Study Nested Within the French Hospital Database on HIV ANRS Cohort CO4
Sylvie Lang,Murielle Mary-Krause,Laurent Cotte,Jacques Gilquin,Marialuisa Partisani,Anne Simon,Franck Boccara,Dominique Costagliola +7 more
TL;DR: The risk of MI was increased by cumulative exposure to all the studied PIs except saquinavir and particularly to amprenavir/fosamprenavIR with or without ritonavir, and lopinavir with ritonvir, whereas the association with abacavir cannot be considered causal.
