Journal ArticleDOI
Diagnostic value of HSP70, glypican 3, and glutamine synthetase in hepatocellular nodules in cirrhosis.
Luca Di Tommaso,Giada Franchi,Young Nyun Park,Barbara Fiamengo,Annarita Destro,Emanuela Morenghi,Marco Montorsi,Guido Torzilli,M. A. Tommasini,Luigi Terracciano,Luigi Tornillo,Raffaella Vecchione,Massimo Roncalli +12 more
TL;DR: The adopted panel of 3 markers is very helpful in distinguishing eHCC‐G1 from dysplastic nodules arising in cirrhosis.
Journal ArticleDOI
The application of markers (HSP70 GPC3 and GS) in liver biopsies is useful for detection of hepatocellular carcinoma
Luca Di Tommaso,Annarita Destro,Jae Yeon Seok,Emanuela Balladore,Luigi Terracciano,Angelo Sangiovanni,Massimo Iavarone,Massimo Colombo,Ja June Jang,Eunsil Yu,So Young Jin,Emanuela Morenghi,Young Nyun Park,Massimo Roncalli +13 more
TL;DR: This panel of markers proved useful to detect well-differentiated HCC in biopsy and two immunoreactive markers are recommended as the most valuable diagnostic combination for HCC detection.
Journal ArticleDOI
Telomerase reverse transcriptase promoter mutation is an early somatic genetic alteration in the transformation of premalignant nodules in hepatocellular carcinoma on cirrhosis.
Jean-Charles Nault,Julien Calderaro,Luca Di Tommaso,Charles Balabaud,Elie Serge Zafrani,Paulette Bioulac-Sage,Massimo Roncalli,Jessica Zucman-Rossi +7 more
TL;DR: Frequency of TERT promoter mutations rapidly increases during the different steps of the transformation of premalignant lesions into HCC on cirrhosis, and somatic TERT promoters mutation is a new biomarker predictive of transformation of Premalignant patients into H CC.
Journal ArticleDOI
YAP activation is an early event and a potential therapeutic target in liver cancer development
Andrea Perra,Marta Anna Kowalik,Elena Ghiso,Giovanna M. Ledda-Columbano,Luca Di Tommaso,Maria Maddalena Angioni,Carlotta Raschioni,Elena Testore,Massimo Roncalli,Silvia Giordano,Amedeo Columbano +10 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that YAP overexpression is an early event in rat and human liver tumourigenesis, and it is critical for the clonal expansion of carcinogen-initiated hepatocytes and oval cells, and VP-induced disruption of the YAP-TEAD interaction may provide an important approach for the treatment of Yap-overexpressing cancers.
Journal ArticleDOI
MicroRNA-21 links epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition and inflammatory signals to confer resistance to neoadjuvant trastuzumab and chemotherapy in HER2-positive breast cancer patients
Leticia De Mattos-Arruda,Giulia Bottai,Paolo Nuciforo,Luca Di Tommaso,Elisa Giovannetti,Elisa Giovannetti,Vicente Peg,Agnese Losurdo,Jose Perez-Garcia,Giovanna Masci,Fabio Corsi,Javier Cortes,Joan Seoane,Joan Seoane,George A. Calin,Libero Santarpia +15 more
TL;DR: The ability of miR-21 signaling to sustain EMT and shape the tumor immune microenvironment in HER2-positive breast cancer patients who may benefit from treatments containing PI3K inhibitors or immunomodulatory drugs is supported.
