TL;DR: Fungal traits and character database FungalTraits operating at genus and species hypothesis levels is presented in this article, which includes 17 lifestyle related traits of fungal and Stramenopila genera.
Journal ArticleDOI
Relationship between soil nutrients and mycorrhizal associations of two Bipinnula species (Orchidaceae) from central Chile.
María Isabel Mujica,Nicolás Saez,Mauricio A. Cisternas,Marlene Manzano,Juan J. Armesto,Fernanda Pérez +5 more
TL;DR: Soil nutrients and orchid host species had significant effects on OTU richness and phylogenetic diversity and provided support for the hypothesis that specialization is favoured by higher soil nutrient availability.
Journal ArticleDOI
Traditional and Local Knowledge in Chile: Review of Experiences and Insights for Management and Sustainability
Matías Guerrero-Gatica,María Isabel Mujica,Matías Barceló,María Fernanda Vio-Garay,Stefan Gelcich,Juan J. Armesto +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors synthesize and evaluate traditional and local knowledge (TLK) studies in Chile, discuss how this progress compares to the international scientific literature in the field, and contextualize their results according to the multiple evidence base approach.
Journal ArticleDOI
Soil P reduces mycorrhizal colonization while favors fungal pathogens: observational and experimental evidence in Bipinnula (Orchidaceae).
María Isabel Mujica,María Fernanda Pérez,Marcin Jakalski,Florent Martos,Marc-André Selosse,Marc-André Selosse +5 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that OMF are affected by soil conditions differently from non-mycorrhizal fungi, and the influence of nutrients on OMF is coupled with indirect effects on the whole fungal community, and potentially on plant's health.
Journal ArticleDOI
Low mycorrhizal diversity in the endangered and rare orchids Bipinnula volckmannii and B. apinnula of Central Chile
TL;DR: The results suggest that seeds may require additional treatment for successful germination and that fungal partners isolated from adult plants may not be the same that support the germination of seeds.
