Metabolic and weight-loss effects of a long-term dietary intervention in obese patients
TL;DR: The hypothesis that defined meal replacements can be used for successful, long-term weight control and improvements in certain biomarkers of disease risk is supported.
Journal ArticleDOI
Metabolic and weight loss effects of long-term dietary intervention in obese patients: four-year results.
TL;DR: Providing a structured meal plan via vitamin- and mineral-fortified liquid meal replacements is a safe and effective dietary strategy for obese patients and can improve certain biomarkers of disease risk.

Journal ArticleDOI
Value of structured meals for weight management: risk factors and long-term weight maintenance.
TL;DR: Long-term maintenance of weight loss with meal replacements improves biomarkers of disease risk, and both groups of patients showed significant improvement in glucose, insulin, triacylglycerol, and systolic blood pressure.
