Journal ArticleDOI
Mesenchymal Stromal Cell Characteristics Vary Depending on Their Origin
Heike Wegmeyer,Ann-Marie Bröske,Mathias Leddin,Karin Kuentzer,Anna Katharina Nisslbeck,Julia Hupfeld,Kornelius Wiechmann,Jennifer Kuhlen,Christoffer von Schwerin,Carsten Stein,Saskia Knothe,Jürgen Funk,Ralf Huss,Markus Neubauer +13 more
TL;DR: Interestingly, pathway analysis of gene expression data revealed intriguing differences between MSCs suggesting that M SCs from UC and AM possess in general a higher potential of immunomodulatory capacity, whereas BM-MSCs showed aHigher potential of supporting regenerative processes as exemplified by neuronal differentiation and development.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sustained PU.1 Levels Balance Cell-Cycle Regulators to Prevent Exhaustion of Adult Hematopoietic Stem Cells
Philipp B. Staber,Philipp B. Staber,Philipp B. Staber,Pu Zhang,Min Ye,Robert S. Welner,César Nombela-Arrieta,Christian Bach,Marc A. Kerenyi,Boris Bartholdy,Hong Zhang,Meritxell Alberich-Jorda,Sanghoon Lee,Henry Yang,Felicia S L Ng,Junyan Zhang,Mathias Leddin,Leslie E. Silberstein,Gerald Hoefler,Stuart H. Orkin,Stuart H. Orkin,Berthold Göttgens,Frank Rosenbauer,Frank Rosenbauer,Gang Huang,Daniel G. Tenen,Daniel G. Tenen +26 more
TL;DR: Results establish that PU.1 mediates chromosome looping and functions as a master regulator of HSC proliferation and prevents excessive HSC division and exhaustion.
Journal ArticleDOI
Two distinct auto-regulatory loops operate at the PU.1 locus in B cells and myeloid cells
Mathias Leddin,Chiara Perrod,Maarten Hoogenkamp,Saeed Ghani,Salam A. Assi,Sven Heinz,Nicola K. Wilson,George A. Follows,Jörg Schönheit,Lena Vockentanz,Ali M. Mosammam,Wei Chen,Daniel G. Tenen,Daniel G. Tenen,David R. Westhead,Berthold Göttgens,Constanze Bonifer,Frank Rosenbauer +17 more
TL;DR: In this article, a combination of transgenic studies, global chromatin assays, and detailed molecular analyses is presented evidence that PU.1 is regulated by a novel mechanism involving cross talk between different cis elements together with lineage-restricted autoregulation.
Journal Article
Two distinct auto-regulatory loops operate at the PU.1 locus in B cells and myeloid cells. Blood. 2011;117(10):2827-2838
TL;DR: It is shown here that the upstream regulatory cis element alone is insufficient to confer physiologic PU.1 expression in mice but requires the cooperation with other, previously unidentified elements.
Journal Article
Overview of the Seventh Social Media Mining for Health Applications (#SMM4H) Shared Tasks at COLING 2022
Davy Weissenbacher,Juan M. Banda,Vera Davydova,Darryl Estrada Zavala,Luis Gascó,Yao Ge,Yuting Guo,Ari Z. Klein,Martin Krallinger,Mathias Leddin,Arjun Magge,Raul Rodriguez-Esteban,Abeed Sarker,Lucia Schmidt,Elena Tutubalina,Graciela Gonzalez-Hernandez +15 more
TL;DR: An overview of the shared tasks and participants’ systems is provided to promote the community-driven development and evaluation of advanced natural language processing systems to detect, extract, and normalize health-related information in public, user-generated content.
