Journal ArticleDOI

CD8+ T-Cell Responses to Trypanosoma cruzi Are Highly Focused on Strain-Variant trans-Sialidase Epitopes

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that in both hosts the CD8+ T-cell response is highly focused on epitopes encoded by members of the large trans-sialidase family of genes, suggesting that immune evasion may be occurring at a population rather than single-parasite level.
Journal ArticleDOI

Prior Dengue Virus Exposure Shapes T Cell Immunity to Zika Virus in Humans.

TL;DR: The kinetics and viral epitopes targeted by T cells responding to ZIKV and whether preexisting dengue virus (DENV) T cell immunity modulates these responses are investigated and it is found that memory T cell responses elicited by prior infection with DENV or vaccination with tetravalent d Dengue attenuated vaccines (TDLAV) recognize ZikV-derived peptides.
Journal ArticleDOI

Lack of Durable Cross-Neutralizing Antibodies Against Zika Virus from Dengue Virus Infection.

TL;DR: The data suggest that most DENV infections do not induce durable, high-level Zika virus cross-neutralizing antibodies, and that Zika virus–specific antibody populations develop after Zika virus infection irrespective of prior DENV immunity.
